Our Purpose
The purpose of the Dustin Rawls Memorial Scholarship Fund, to assist high school athletes while attending college, to further their education. After awarding the scholarship, any additional funds raised will be used for a donation, made to a
secondary charitable organization, of the Board’s choice. Dustin loved athletics, playing soccer, baseball and football as a youth in Katy, and later played for the State Title winning, Katy Tigers. Dustin Rawls served 4 years in the US Marine Corps as a combat correspondent. After completing his tour of duty, he moved back to Katy,Tx. Having just begun a career as a gun technician on an oil exploration ship, he was taken from us in an automobile accident at 25 years of age, in September 2007. Just as he gave himself in life, to anyone who needed help, Dustin gave the gift of life as an organ/tissue donor, lives, still giving, even today. He had just made a new commitment to life and God, to make a difference in the world, and leave it a little better than he found it. Scholarship Definition
