Mayflower Oil Spill- March 29, 2013

"On March 29, ExxonMobil’s Pegasus pipeline burst near the town of Mayflower, Arkansas, flooding the town with the equivalent of over 10,000 barrels of crude oil. Nearly two dozen homes were evacuated following the accident, which the US Environmental Protection Agency categorized as a 'major spill'" Here was an example how the risks of using oil in 2013.

FORWARD ON CLIMATE RALLY- FEBRUARY 17, 2014

This rally, which took place at The Nation Mall in Washington D.C., was the largest climate rally in U.S. history. 168 organizations and tens of thousands of activists represent people not only from all over the United States but also from Canada. Almost 50,000 people attended. Speakers spoke on the affects of "dirty energy" and climate change. They called out Obama saying that his actions to address climate change were inadequate and that in order to save future generations, we must act now. This unified effort made President Obama and many others rethink how our country should approach environmental issues.This was one great day for environmentalism.
