Introducing Jeannie’s House 🐾❤️
Many of you know that over the past year I’ve been caring for a property that belonged to my dear friend, Jeannie. As I’ve been thinking about what to do with the house, I realized it could become something much bigger than just another home.
I’d like to create Jeannie’s House—a safe, temporary place for cats in crisis.
The goal is to work alongside local rescues by providing temporary housing for:
🐈 Cats whose owners have passed away or entered hospice.
🐈 Cats waiting for a foster home to become available.
🐈 Cats that need a safe place while rescues arrange veterinary care or adoption.
Right now, six cats in Houston are reportedly facing euthanasia after their owner recently passed away. Situations like this happen far too often. Families are grieving, rescues are overwhelmed, and innocent cats can run out of time before a plan can be made.
Jeannie loved animals, and I truly believe she would have wanted her home to become a place that gives cats a second chance.
The house needs a lot of work before it can safely serve that purpose. There are repairs that need to be completed, and I’ll be sharing photos so everyone can see exactly what we’re starting with. Every improvement brings us one step closer to helping cats when they have nowhere else to go.
If you’d like to support this project, any donation—large or small—will go directly toward making Jeannie’s House a safe haven for cats in need. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this post would mean just as much.
