What a day celebrating leadership in Pearland!

Our State of Leadership Luncheon, presented by TDECU, featured an incredible conversation with former WNBA Champion and MVP Cynthia Cooper, moderated by Patti Smith. Cynthia shared powerful lessons on leadership, perseverance, teamwork, and what it means to keep showing up with purpose.

We also celebrated the Leadership Pearland Class of 2026 as they officially graduated from the program. This class spent the year learning more about our community, building relationships, and discovering how they can continue making an impact in Pearland.

The Pearland Leadership Foundation also presented the first ever Silver Pear Award, honoring a Leadership Pearland graduate who has continued to serve, lead, and give back to Pearland long after their class year ended. This award is a new tradition celebrating the people who truly represent the heart of Leadership Pearland. Congratulations to Ruby Sandars, the inaugural recipient of the 2026 Silver Pear Award!

We had two amazing ribbon cuttings this week, celebrating local businesses that are making an impact in our community.

First, congratulations to Yellow Apron Baking Co.! What started as a side hustle in 2015 has grown into their very first storefront. As the winner of the 2025 PIH Pitch Competition, they have built their business around community support, exceptional flavors and high-quality ingredients. Be sure to visit them at West Side Plaza and support this local success story.

We also celebrated Inertia Resources Inc., an energy consulting company dedicated to helping businesses better understand and manage their energy costs. Their expertise provides valuable support to local businesses looking to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.

Join us again next week for another exciting ribbon cutting as we welcome FACE FOUNDRIÉ to the community on Tuesday, June 16, at 11:00 AM. We look forward to seeing you there!

The PHS Lady O's Softball Booster Club Team captured the 2026 UIL 6A Division I State Championship, defeating defending champion Waco Midway 6-3 to bring home the fourth state title in program history!

The victory capped off an incredible season for the Lady Oilers, who finished with a 37-6 record and continued a tradition of excellence that has made Pearland one of the premier softball programs in Texas. Pearland ISD Congratulations to the players, coaches, and supporters on an unforgettable championship season.
