At the end of their journey, Eileen and Jim attended Mass at the Cathedral of Saint James the Apostle. Afterward, their friend Don spotted a young woman wearing a Fordham shirt. As it turned out, she was part of a group of 20 Fordham students walking the Camino with their professors.

Eileen and Jim told the group all about Christopher and shared a philosophy paper he wrote while at Fordham about living a meaningful life and having a positive impact on the world. The students were deeply touched, exchanging hugs, Live Like Chris bracelets, and prayer cards.

“There are no coincidences,” as Eileen always says. Meeting Fordham students on the very last day of the Camino felt like a beautiful reminder of that. The patron saint of travelers is Saint Christopher, after all. ❤️

They did it! Eileen, Jim, and crew completed their Camino journey, arriving in Santiago de Compostela on Eileen’s 70th birthday—a milestone made even more meaningful by the miles and moments they shared along the way.

Throughout the journey, they embraced each day’s challenges and joys, met fellow pilgrims from around the world, and experienced the unique magic that comes from simply putting one foot in front of the other.

With every step, they carried Christopher in their hearts, honoring his memory and sharing his story. We know he was with them along the way—his spirit woven into every mile, every sunset, and every moment of grace.

Reaching Santiago on Eileen’s 70th birthday was not only a celebration of an extraordinary journey, but also a tribute to the enduring love that continue to guide us, no matter where the road leads.🩵

Eileen and Jim walking the Camino de Santiago, taking part in a centuries-old pilgrimage built on faith, reflection, community, and kindness. Along the way, those who walk support one another, share stories, offer encouragement, and discover that sometimes the greatest gift is simply helping someone else continue their journey.

This Camino is especially meaningful as they carry Christopher with them in every step, every prayer, every sunrise and quiet moment, leaving pieces of his memory along the path.

The Camino teaches that no one walks alone, and that even in loss, connection, generosity, and hope can guide the way forward.

Thinking of them as they make this incredible journey and honor Chris with every mile.

Congratulations to our 2026 Christopher Tucci Scholarship winner, Brissia Andrade-Guerra!

Brissia will be graduating from North Rockland High School this June and will be attending UConn this fall, where she plans to start her studies towards becoming a lawyer.

Brissia's passion for giving back is a huge component of what made her the ideal candidate this year. Not only does she want to become a human rights lawyer, but she has given back throughout her youth as well- most notably by giving back in memory of her own brother, Hugo, who passed away from cancer. She created the Heroes of Hope Initiative that focuses on assembling and delivering care packages of coloring books, toys, and other activities to Maria Fareri Children's Hospital to bring comfort to children who are battling cancer.

We wish Brissia the best- and thank you to all our donors and supporters who helped to make this possible. 🩵💛🤍

Last year we had the honor of awarding the Christopher Tucci Memorial Scholarship to the first ever recipient , helping her pursue her dreams at Clemson University playing on the wheelchair tennis team. Watching her continue to chase her goals while embodying the principles Chris stood for has been incredibly inspiring!

We’re proud to share that applications for this year’s scholarship are now open.

The ideal candidate will reflect the spirit Chris lived with — curiosity, varied interests, humility, a passion for life, and a desire to give back and do good.

This scholarship is open to high school seniors planning to attend college this fall to use towards intended to support tuition and educational expenses. The recipient will be announced on May 9th at our annual Putt Putt event in Pearl River!
