🎉🩺 That's a wrap on Dr. Me! Summer 2026! 🩺🎉

What an incredible six-week journey exploring the amazing systems of the human body! We wrapped up our final session by learning about the Musculoskeletal System and celebrating our newest Dr. Me! graduates.

A heartfelt mahalo to our guest presenters:
🌟 Dr. Marc Morifuji
🌟 Dr. Ashley Morisaka
🌟 Ms. Zoe Moreno

Our future healthcare professionals measured their grip strength with a dynamometer, got moving with a fun Zumba Joints activity, learned how splints help protect injured bones, and explored the human skeleton using an anatomical model.

The day ended with a special certificate celebration, pizza, hot dogs, and plenty of smiles as we recognized our students' hard work, curiosity, and commitment throughout the program.

Mahalo to our partners at Kaiser Permanente, our dedicated Links volunteers, guest speakers, parents, and families for making Dr. Me! Summer 2026 such a success. Most importantly, congratulations to our amazing participants — we can't wait to see where your STEM journey takes you!

Here's to inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals, one curious mind at a time. 💚

🫀❤️ Dr. Me! Summer 2026 Keeps the Learning Pumping! ❤️🫀

Last Saturday, our Dr. Me! students explored the fascinating world of the Circulatory System and discovered how the heart, blood, and blood vessels work together to keep our bodies healthy and strong.

A special mahalo to our guest healthcare professionals:

🌟 Dr. Andrew Nguyen
🌟 Dr. Lisa Tang

Students had the opportunity to put their skills into practice by using their Dr. Me! stethoscopes to listen to heartbeats and learn how blood pressure is measured. They also learned about the important role pharmacists play as part of a patient’s healthcare team and how medications help people stay healthy.

One of the highlights of the day was a visit from Kids 4 CPR, who brought CPR training manikins and taught students the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

As we prepare for our final session, we’re incredibly proud of the curiosity, enthusiasm, and growth our students have shown throughout the program.

🎉 We’ll also celebrate our Dr. Me! participants and their accomplishments during our closing certificate presentation as they complete six weeks of hands-on STEM, health, and medical exploration.

We can’t wait to finish the program strong and celebrate our future healthcare professionals!

🛡️🦠 Dr. Me! Summer 2026 Continues! 🦠🛡️

Last Saturday, our Dr. Me! students learned about the incredible Immune System—the body's very own defense team!

Through hands-on activities and interactive learning, students explored how the immune system helps protect us from germs, fights infections, and works every day to keep us healthy. They learned about white blood cells, antibodies, vaccines, and the important role healthy habits play in supporting our body's natural defenses.

A special mahalo to our guest physicians:

🌟 Dr. Tarquin Collis
🌟 Dr. Katherine Kingsley

Thank you for sharing your expertise and helping our students better understand the science behind staying healthy and strong.

As we near the end of our Summer 2026 program, it has been exciting to watch our students grow in confidence, curiosity, and knowledge about STEM, medicine, and healthcare careers.

✋☀️ Dr. Me! Summer 2026 Keeps Growing! ☀️✋

Last Saturday, our Dr. Me! students explored the amazing world of the Integumentary System — better known as the body's largest organ: the skin!

Students learned how their skin helps protect them from injury and germs, allows them to touch, feel, and sense the world around them, and plays an important role in keeping their bodies healthy. They also discovered why protecting their skin with sunscreen and other healthy habits is so important.

A special mahalo to our guest physicians:

🌟 Dr. Jessica Ono
🌟 Dr. Annie Wang

Thank you for sharing your expertise and helping our students learn more about the science behind healthy skin.

Our future healthcare professionals also learned that hair and nails are part of the integumentary system, helping to protect the body in different ways. Along the way, they were introduced to fun new vocabulary words like collagen and keratin and put their learning into action by creating their own UV-sensitive bracelets to explore the effects of sunlight and UV exposure.

We continue to be impressed by the curiosity, enthusiasm, and thoughtful questions our students bring to each session!
