Last week, Otto Lopez, A&P and CFI-I at USAA, KFFC spoke to our group about preventative maintenance, resources for maintenance information and even let us test our skills making safety wires! THANK YOU Otto for sharing your knowledge with us!

Do you know what maintenance you can perform on your plane, and are you confident you can do it? Join us next Tuesday, March 17th 6:30 pm for our monthly meeting - guest speaker Otto Lopez, A&P, where we will discuss all things preventative maintenance and the work he performs beyond.

Ryan Thomas, our chapter Treasurer, is planning a presentation on fly-in and airshow approach best practices. If you are planning to to attend an airshow or have ever wanted to join a fly-in event you don’t want to miss this for some great safety tips.

Happy New Year Aviators and Enthusiasts! We are kicking off with a social for January’s meeting. Join us next Tuesday the 20th, 6:30 pm at Line Creek in PTC. We will have a causal discussion on the upcoming air show season and fly-in logistics, presented by our Treasurer Ryan Thomas. Line Creek is hosting by their own BBQ vendor and trivia night as well, so stick around for the fun.

We are excited to see what 2026 has in store, but before we get ahead of ourselves, we would like to thank our 2025 officers

Both will continue their roles for the 2026 calendar year.

A very special thank you to our 2025 chapter President Patrick Flowers. We appreciate your many years of service to our EAA chapter and to our community.

Member Spotlight Monday: A big congratulations to our EAA Chapter 6 member Zach Kiser for successfully passing his Commercial SEL checkride! Your hard work and determination in your flight training is admirable. Zach is also in the Delta Propel program, so we know he will “Keep Climbing” through his ratings 😉

We hope you join us next Tuesday, December 16th at 6:30 pm for our last meeting of the year! We will be discussing ideas for next years events we would like to organize and how we can get more of our local aviators involved. The KFFC FBO has graciously offered their conference room so we will see you there!

And if you are already on our email list, please note that the date is wrong. It is indeed on the 3rd TUESDAY of the month… the 16th. 1-6. Sixteenth…. Apologizes for the confusion on behalf of our severely overworked and jet-lagged Secretary.

Welcome new Chapter 6 member ! Kayla joined both EAA national and our local KFFC chapter at our November meeting. We are happy to have you join us and look forward to expanding our social calendar with you next year!

Kayla is holding our chapter’s original certificate, signed by the founding members on November 15, 1954! How cool!
