Sewing to Keep Girls in School

“We had a beautiful presentation done from Yonkofa team today. The items will be distributed to clients. Thanks so much for helping to support the women-children from Enchi and Yiwabra.” George Forson, Physician Assistant

This morning, Yonkofa VP (and VIP) Okutu (left) delivered 160 pads and 112 pairs of underwear to the The Yonkofa Project Health Centre in Yiwabra-Nkwanta. The clinic director, George Forson, (second from left) is the medical provider who originally approached us to start a Keeping Girls in School program. He desribed how many of his junior-high-age patients were missing school due to issues of period poverty. (We have not been supplying the whole kit in this medical setting, just the basics. Previously, these pads were not done through Crafting Change, but now the programs are all run as one.) We could not have done this without all the amazing volunteers who are crafting these supplies. Thank you!! 🙂
