Peabody Cultural Collaborative 501c3 Nonprofit Organization Promoting the Creative Economy "Our community is strengthened by the many arts and cultural organizations within our midst.

We must continue to support their mission of promoting the beauty of nature, diversity of culture, and the wonder of human creativity." Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. BE OPEN... To Participating
The Peabody Cultural Collaborative unites arts and cultural organizations in greater Peabody, MA to better promote and celebrate the region’s myriad cultural offerings. Through the cross-promotion of inc

lusive activities and events, the PCC partners strive to educate and engage all citizens (including children and adults with disabilities) in the cultural, heritage, and economic development of the area. Formed in 2010 and incorporated in 2012, The PCC is comprised of numerous cultural, arts and business organizations in the city. BE OPEN... To Possibility
The PCC got its start with an Adams Art Planning Grant, furnished by the the Massachusetts Cultural Council to promote economic and community development through the arts, sciences and humanities. From the start, the PCC has striven to understand the community’s cultural needs, be more than a bricks-and-mortar anchor for the cultural district, act a virtual hub for the city’s cultural offerings, and have an open ear for your input. We do this by reaching out and asking your opinion. You can do it too, by imagining the possibilities and joining us in realizing them. BE OPEN... To Creative Pursuits
The ArcWorks Community Art Center is an anchor of Peabody’s cultural district and a partner with the PCC. The Art Center is here for everyone—regardless of your age, background, or ability—to access and participate in the arts, gain creative confidence, and challenge barriers through inspired innovation. It features: a Gallery showcasing exhibitions by local artists in a variety of media yearround; a Gallery Shop featuring handmade items; a slate of painting and pottery classes (taught in our very own pottery studio); and regular events including public opening receptions.

There is only one day left to support CultureHouse Peabody! Make sure to check out the link and see how this great program will fit into downtown Peabody.

CultureHouse Peabody is a month-long pop-up community space. Our free indoor/outdoor space will have socially-distanced seating for lively conversations, ping-pong tables and games to bring people of all ages together, and an outdoor stage to host small performances. Artists will have the opportunity to hang their artwork, teach workshops, or perform. We will use the month we are open to pilot this new concept and discover areas of improvement. After we close, we will put together an impact report that provides a path to creating a permanent community space in Peabody.

“The support from the community this year has been very much appreciated. The PEF was able to respond to the immediate needs identified this fall, ensuring students had supplies necessary at their homes to be able to fully participate in remote activities,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Josh Vadala. “The added programming available through the Cultural Collaborative has created a new level of excitement with the students.”

We may have been quiet over the past few months - but we have been working hard behind the scenes!
We are happy to announce that we have been able to fund the Peabody School Systems to provide some additional arts-based programs through the Young Audiences of Massachusetts.
We have been working alongside the Peabody Education Foundation, who have created take-home kits to allow students to more fully engage during remote learning times.

CuriousCity

The PCC redirected some of its funding for CuriousCity to Peabody Public Schools amid the coronavirus health crisis this school year.

Great suggestions and advice.

Great suggestions and advice.

We know many parents are wondering how much their kids can socialize with friends during this school closure. The point of the closure is to slow the possible spread of the Coronavirus, which means social distancing and avoiding public places.
If kids are hanging out during this closure, it does not help slow the possible spread. The virus can live on surfaces for days, so it’s important to avoid touching things in public spaces like playgrounds and skate parks. Please don’t let your kids socialize at friend’s homes.
We highly recommend spending time outdoors, exploring our parks and open spaces. Just maintain the 6-foot distance with other people. Need recommendations on trails and outdoor spaces? Check out https://www.peabody-ma.gov for some great ideas!
During this time, it's very important to keep your social circles small. Whenever there is a potential case of COVID-19, our Public Health Nurse does what’s called contact tracing. That requires gathering information about every person that the ill person has come in close contact with. If that case ends up confirmed, EVERYONE who is a close contact has to quarantine for 14 days.
So please help with this initiative, and limit your kid’s contact with others during the school closure! Thanks for your cooperation.
