We had such a lovely time this past weekend working with Rim Country Artists to raise money for local food banks. Final numbers will be tallied next week, but so far, with both community and large donations from families and local businesses, we raised over $9,000 from this great event! Working together with community and other great causes, is a recipe for success! Many thanks to Danzeisen Dairy Payson Store, Lyman Ranches Beef Shop, Arizona Mushroom Company, Payson Farmers Market, Rim Country Pottery, KRIM-FM, The Boock Sisters, and so many others for contributing.

We've received more amazing donations from acclaimed potters to our Empty Bowls Table. Well-known Phoenix Potter and Instructor Jon Higuchi and his friend, amazing local potter Sandy James collaborated on these two beautiful pieces. Jon Higuchi was gracious enough to come up to Payson and demo throwing giant chunks of clay for our students, with his gorgeously refined throwing style. Sandy then took over the surface design, the white, thin neck vessel was fired in on of our primitive Obvara firings, and the blue vessel was amazingly thrown with 25 lbs of clay, and glazed, decaled, and designed with a trompe l'oeil mosaic design. They are both gorgeous. Don't miss out on a chance to purchase one of these refined works of art. All proceeds go to our three local food banks! We are getting some amazing donations from world famous artists for both our Rim Country Empty Bowls, and our Rim Country Artists Student Scholarship Raffle. These amazing bowls + a couple dozen more were donated by renowned local potter Gary Houston. Come check out the table and get a small bite of home made chili featuring Lyman Ranches Beef Shop beef. All pottery proceeds go directly to our three local food banks.
