In case you missed Community Provider Network of Rhode Island 's update last week, the Rhode Island State Budget passed, including funding for a 100% increase in the Medicaid rate! We were so proud to be at the 2026 Advocacy Day in early May, where we had the largest turnout of any state agency. In May, at the Citizens with Power monthly meeting, we took a virtual tour of the Rhode Island Statehouse with CPNRI and discussed our advocacy pieces. We are thankful for our area reps, including State Representative Jenni Furtado , who took the time to visit with us and discuss the importance of this historic funding.

The Cub Scouts of Pack 12 Berkeley-Ashton had an unforgettable visit to Flying Shuttles Art & Weaving Studio! 🎨🧵 We loved welcoming you all during April Vacation Week!

From trying their hand at a tabletop loom to exploring watercolor painting, the scouts dove right into the creative process. They didn’t just make art—they experienced it. Along the way, they had the chance to chat with our talented artists, ask questions, learn what inspires their work, and hear how they became artists professionally!

It was a day full of inclusion, immersive creativity, curiosity, and hands-on fun. A huge thank you to the Pack 12 Parents who coordinated the visit! We definitely saw some incredible artistry come to life, and it was truly an inspiration for us all at Flying Shuttles!

Moments like these are why we do what we do—sharing creativity, sparking curiosity, and building connections through art.

Looking for a fun and meaningful activity? Come visit us at Flying Shuttles Art & Weaving Studio, or reach out to [email protected]! We’d love to welcome you, your family, or your group for a hands-on creative experience.

This National Nurses Week, we at The Arc of Blackstone Valley are lifting up the nurses who show up — not just with medical expertise, but with genuine compassion for every person they serve.

For the individuals we support, a nurse is often so much more than a healthcare provider. They are an advocate. A familiar face on a difficult day. Someone who takes the time to truly understand and communicate with each person, no matter the challenge.

To every nurse who has walked alongside our community — thank you. Your power isn't just in what you do. It's in how you make people feel seen, heard, and cared for.

💙 Happy National Nurses Week from all of us at The Arc. We are grateful for you every single day.
