🙏🏽💔Today, Cabo Verde mourns the loss of one of its own.💔🙏🏽
CACD extends our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, fellow musicians, and loved ones of Bino Branco, a true icon of Cape Verdean music.
Bino’s music was more than music. It was our culture, our memories, our islands, and our identity. Through his talent and passion, he helped bring the sounds of Cabo Verde to generations of people, both at home and throughout the diaspora.
For many of us, his music was part of our celebrations, our gatherings, our dancing, and our connection to home. His contribution to Cape Verdean culture cannot be measured simply by the songs he played, but by the memories and emotions he created in the hearts of so many.
Today, we grieve with his family and with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. We also grieve as a people, because the loss of Bino is a loss felt far beyond his immediate family. It is a loss for Cabo Verde and for the entire Cape Verdean community around the world.
We are grateful for the music, the memories, and the legacy he leaves behind. Though he may no longer be with us, his music will continue to play, his rhythms will continue to move us, and his legacy will continue to live through the generations.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.🙏🏽
