The Fourth of July weekend delivered another unforgettable chapter of the Rhode Island Super Cup, with goals, drama, and standout performances across the region!

🔥 Mexico 3-1 Santo Antão United

📍 Gano Street Field – Providence, RI

Santo Antão United came out flying and struck first in the 14th minute through #16 Antonio Lima, putting Mexico under early pressure. Mexico responded just before halftime when #26 Hugo Torres found the equalizer in the 34th minute to make it 1-1.

The second half belonged to Mexico. #17 Carlos Aguirre fired them ahead in the 62nd minute, and just two minutes later #26 Jordan Arcila put the game out of reach with another clinical finish. Mexico marched away with an impressive 3-1 victory!

💪 Intelegencia FC 4-0 CRCP Warren Soccer Club

📍 Kickemuit Middle School – Warren, RI

A clash between two veteran sides started with end-to-end action, but once Intelegencia FC found their rhythm, there was no looking back. #17 Jose De Brito opened the scoring in the 20th minute before doubling the advantage in the 28th, sending Intelegencia into halftime with a commanding 2-0 lead.

The second half brought more of the same as #15 Luis Sanches struck in the 49th minute, and #5 Paulo Miranda capped off a dominant display with a goal in the 69th minute. Final score: Intelegencia FC 4, CRCP Warren Soccer Club 0.

👑 Morabeza SC 2-1 Academica FC

📍 Bliss Field – Rehoboth, MA

Defending champions Morabeza SC were pushed to the limit by a determined Academica FC. Academica struck first in the 19th minute through #21 Nataniel Barbosa, but Morabeza answered almost immediately as #2 Platiny Gomes leveled the match just five minutes later.

Both teams battled relentlessly in an intense second half until the champions delivered the decisive blow in the 73rd minute, securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory and reminding everyone why they're the team to beat.

⚽ São Nicolau 2-0 PCFC Renegades

📍 Fish Hill Soccer Field – Coventry, RI

After a tense defensive battle that remained scoreless for over an hour, São Nicolau finally broke through in the 66th minute when #10 Silvandro Andrade found the back of the net. With the Renegades pushing for an equalizer, #7 Nelly Naves sealed the victory with a second goal in the 76th minute, giving São Nicolau a well-earned 2-0 win.

RI Riptide came out flying, with #11 Ryan Taylor breaking the deadlock just six minutes into the match. But Mexico refused to panic.



In the 20th minute, #20 Hugo Torres leveled the score before #10 Javier Montoya completed a lightning-fast turnaround just two minutes later. The second half turned into an end-to-end battle with both teams creating dangerous chances, but Montoya put the game to bed in the 82nd minute, grabbing his second goal of the day to secure a commanding 3-1 victory for Mexico.

Two familiar rivals met in another intense showdown.

After a fast-paced opening, Intelegencia FC took advantage of a defensive error when #15 Miguel Fortes buried the winner in the 15th minute. Academica threw everything forward searching for an equalizer, but Intelegencia's disciplined defense held strong to claim another valuable three points.



💪 PCFC Renegades VS Cranston Portuguese Club



The Renegades wasted absolutely no time making a statement.

#13 Keith Heyward opened the scoring before #6 Jan Grablewski doubled the lead just 17 minutes later. #11 Bryce Dubois added a third in the 25th minute, and from there the Renegades completely shut down the match, earning an impressive 3-0 victory and a clean sheet.



🔥 Santo Antão United VS CRCP Warren Soccer Club

📍 Kickemuit Middle School, Warren, RI



This was truly a game of two halves.



CRCP Warren looked in control after #5 Paulo Dutra gave them a first-half lead in the 27th minute.

But Santo Antão United came out after the break with a completely different mentality.

#7 Jose Spencer equalized in the 50th minute before #12 Filomeno Correia stole the spotlight with two second-half goals to complete an outstanding comeback and secure a 3-1 victory.

The reigning champions reminded everyone why they're still the team to beat.

CRCP Warren Soccer Club delivered a statement performance led by the unstoppable #21 Fabio Oliveira, who recorded a sensational hat trick. Oliveira opened the scoring in the 18th minute before #20 Marco Cabral doubled the advantage just two minutes later.
RI Riptide showed tremendous resilience, fighting back through goals from #11 Ryan Taylor and #12 Joshua Hareld to level the match 2-2 before halftime.

The second half belonged to Oliveira, who struck twice more in the 52nd and 62nd minutes to complete his hat trick and restore control for Warren. #22 Ryan Maduro added the icing on the cake in the 88th minute as CRCP Warren Soccer Club cruised to an impressive 5-2 victory.

The Brazilian side answered immediately as #17 Elton J. de Souza Boy leveled the match at 2-2. In the second half, #10 Saint Clair Soares gave Tigre the lead, only for #4 Graham Dawson to equalize once again in the 68th minute.

The pressure continued as #24 Platiny Gomes doubled the advantage in the 24th minute, and only a minute later #7 Manny Firmino struck to make it 3-0. Firmino wasn't finished yet, adding his second goal of the match in the 44th minute to send Morabeza into halftime with a commanding lead.

This one had it all. Mexico struck first in the 27th minute through #36 Abel Manzano, but PCFC Renegades responded quickly in the second half with goals from #23 Glenn McCrory (52’) and #13 Keith Heyward (54’) to take the lead. Mexico battled back with #10 Javier Montoya (AKA Di Maria) scoring in the 77th minute and again two minutes later to go back in front. Then, in dramatic fashion, Keith Heyward netted his second of the match in the 89th minute to secure a thrilling 3–3 draw.

Academica FC def. Real Colombia
Another exciting matchup between two talented sides. Real Colombia jumped ahead early behind two first-half goals from #13 Erick Lopez. Academica FC fought back with two goals from #9 Silvandro Lopes to even the score before #5 Artur Depina delivered the game-winner to complete the comeback victory.

Week 1 of the RISC Over 40 Season Opener: Let the Action Begin!

What an incredible way to kick off the season! From dramatic equalizers to late-game heroics, Week 1 delivered excitement, intensity, and unforgettable moments across every match. Fans brought the energy, players left it all on the field, and the Over 40 division showed once again why Sunday league football is special.

Real Colombia 3 – 3 Cranston Portuguese

📍 Lusitania Field – Cumberland, RI
⏰ Kickoff: 9:00 AM

The season opener lived up to the hype with a thrilling 3-3 draw between Real Colombia and Cranston Portuguese.

Real Colombia’s Joao Marques opened the scoring early, setting the tone for an action-packed battle. Cranston Portuguese responded in the 66th minute when Joao Santos found the equalizer. Just moments later, Matthew Baptista gave Cranston Portuguese the lead, but Joshua Giraldo answered immediately for Real Colombia in the 68th minute.

Baptista struck again to restore the advantage for Cranston Portuguese, but the drama wasn’t over yet. In the 88th minute, Victor Zepeda delivered a clutch equalizer for Real Colombia, sealing an unforgettable finish to a Sunday league classic.

Mexico 2 – 0 Tigre Futebol Clube

⏰ Kickoff: 9:00 AM

After a scoreless first half, Mexico came alive in the second half with a dominant performance.

Javier Montoya broke the deadlock in the 70th minute, giving Mexico the momentum they needed. Abraham Montufar added another in the 81st minute to secure a strong 2-0 victory over Tigre Futebol Clube.

A disciplined defensive effort and clinical finishing helped Mexico start the season with an important win.

São Nicolau 3 – 1 Academica FC

📍 Bliss Field – Rehoboth Youth Soccer Field
⏰ Kickoff: 11:00 AM

This matchup featured high intensity from the opening whistle, with both teams battling hard through the first 30 minutes.

In the 33rd minute, São Nicolau’s #9 Autil Dos Santos Lopes broke through with the opening goal. He struck again in the 55th minute to double the lead and put São Nicolau in control.

Academica FC responded in the 72nd minute through Claudio Semedo, making it 2-1 and reigniting the contest. However, São Nicolau quickly regained momentum, and #14 Olademir Dias added the third goal to secure a 3-1 victory.

USASA is excited to share that registration for the 2026 USASA Veterans Cup is off to a strong start, with more than 60 teams already registered for this year’s tournament.
This year’s event will take place in Burlington, Vermont, from July 15–19, and it is shaping up to be one team's will not want to miss. Now is the time to encourage your teams to register. With strong participation already building, great hotel options, prize money for champions, and additional tournament activities planned, this year’s Veterans Cup promises to be one of our best yet.
Division Start Dates:
• Over 60 and Older: Starts July 15
• Over 40, Over 50, Over 55: Start July 16
• Over 30 and Open Division: Start July 17
We have also included a flyer with a QR code that you can share with your local leagues, other clubs, and any tournaments you attend this spring. We would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word and encouraging more teams to be part of this year’s event.
We also want to highlight that we have secured a strong selection of hotel options for participants. We worked directly with the hotels to arrange room blocks and negotiate the lowest rates available. These options include a variety of accommodations, including some apartment-style lodging, to give teams flexibility based on their needs and budget. Don't miss out on these savings.
New for this year, we are also offering prize money for division champions, which adds another exciting element to the competition.
In addition, there will be a major beer festival in taking place during the tournament, and we will be announcing more big news related to that soon. It will be another great feature that adds to the overall tournament experience for players, families, and supporters.
