🎉Art League RI is thrilled to announce the opening reception for PRESENCE | An Elected Artist Exhibition.

🤩The exhibition features works by three Elected Artists: Emmett Barnacle Emmett Barnacle , Ruth Clegg Ruth Clegg , and Robert Easton Robert W Easton .

📆The exhibition runs from September 12th through October 11th, 2026.
The opening reception is September 12th, 5-7pm.

Synergy at Sail Boston: Art Meets Ocean Science

The Art League of Rhode Island’s (ALRI) Synergy Project recently made waves at Sail Boston, following a special invitation from German Consulate General Dr. Sonja Kreibich to exhibit alongside the German Consulate on Fish Pier.

On Monday, July 13, local artists and scientists gathered right next to the majestic German tall ship, the Gorch Fock, to showcase and discuss collaborative artwork inspired by critical ocean research.

Visitors of all ages engaged with the project team, which included Dr. Caroline Ummenhoffer and postdoctoral fellow Dr. Theo Carr from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), Synergy artists Laurie Kaplowitz and Victoria Guerina, and ALRI interns Jeff Wen (Brown University) and Evelyn Chow (RISD).

The interactive exhibit offered something for everyone, featuring artwork created by scientist and artist collaborations, educational info cards, family-friendly ocean coloring books, and even samples of edible sea kelp. Dr. Kreibich visited the display in person, expressing her deep appreciation for the Synergy Project’s creative dedication to ocean health and conservation.

🎨ArtSee: Looking Together. Learning Together.

Join us for ArtSee, an engaging hour of observation, conversation, and discovery inside Art League Rhode Island’s beautifully curated exhibition. Rather than being told what to see, we’ll explore the artwork together through curiosity, thoughtful questions, and shared conversation. As we listen to one another’s perspectives, we often discover things none of us would have noticed alone.

ArtSee is an opportunity to experience how observation, creativity, and conversation deepen understanding—not only of the artwork, but of ourselves and one another. No art experience is necessary!

Free and open to members, friends, and the community. Donations appreciated!

Thank you to all who visited the opening reception of BODIES!

The exhibit features three elected artists: Dan Borden, Erin Starr, and Vincent Wolf. The exhibition is on display until June 7th. If you have not yet visited, make sure to stop by over the weekend!

The gallery is open Saturdays 2:00–6:00 pm and Sundays, 2:00–5:00 pm.

Opening Soon: Bodies
EA Member Exhibition featuring Dan Borden, Erin Starr , and Vincent Wolf

Join us for the opening reception May 9th, 5-7pm.
Exhibition dates: May 9th - June 7th, 2026.

Bringing together photography, painting, and mixed media, the BODIES exhibition considers the idea of the body in expanded terms: as figure, presence, landscape, psychological space, and material force. Across the artists’ three distinct practices, the exhibition moves beyond literal representation and opens onto questions of identity, vulnerability, environment, distortion, and transformation.
