Cantaloupe and other melons present special food safety risks. Netted melons like cantaloupe grow on the ground and can come in contact with pathogens. Unlike other fruits, cantaloupe are not acidic and readily support the growth of pathogens once they are sliced open. Big thank you to our friends at Nebraska Extension - Richardson County for allowing our Pawnee County Youth to participate in their shooting Sports Contest. After a couple shoot offs, Results for our Pawnee County 4-H youth are: Junior Division - Tucker Sporhase-Blue, Kohen Vetrovsky-Purple (shoot off), & Amelia Strathman
