๐ŸŒฟ Youโ€™re Invited! ๐ŸŒฟ

The Friends of the Paulding Park District, Inc. (FOPPD) will be holding our Annual Meeting on:

๐Ÿ“… Thursday, January 15
โฐ 5:30 p.m.
๐Ÿ“ Black Swamp Nature Center (900 Fairground Drive, Paulding)

During the meeting, weโ€™ll hear an update from Paulding County Park District Board President Linda Hodges and hold our election of officers.

๐ŸŒฑ A look back at 2025:
Over the past year, Friends supported several improvements at New Rochester Park, including new educational kiosks highlighting local history, Native American heritage, the Maumee River, and the parkโ€™s nesting bald eagles, as well as enhancements to the parkโ€™s natural playground.

โœจ The public is welcome and encouraged to attend!
We always value your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions on how we can enhance and support our park areas throughout Paulding County.

If you love our parks, enjoy the outdoors, or are interested in getting more involved in your community, weโ€™d love to see you there!

๐Ÿ‘‰ Feel free to share and help spread the word.

I was today years old when I learnedโ€ฆspaying and neutering community cat colonies is actually one of the most effective and humane ways to control cat populations.

Today at Kiwanis, Jenna Benzing from the Kitty Hope Foundation shared that cats are territorial by nature. When cats are spayed or neutered, they stay put and defend their space โ€” which helps prevent new cats from moving in and continuing the cycle.

The Kitty Hope Foundation spayed and neutered more than 400 cats in 2025, as well as provided many other medical services and adoptions, and has partnered with the local villages like Haviland and Cecil to help control cat populations and they are open to partnering with others that need help.

Grateful for the education and the work happening right here in our community.

Reach out to them if you need help or if youโ€™d like to donate or volunteer.

What's not to like about a MEGA American Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) and a beautiful historical home in Ashtabula County. Both are big, beautiful, with plenty of character. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ‘€๐ŸŒณ

A whopper, too, at 220" in circumference and over 99' tall.
