Strong Hitting Not Enough As Patterson Freshman Tigers Falls To East Union

Even though Patterson Freshman Tigers collected 10 hits to East Union's two, they still fell 3-2 on Monday. Samuel Medina led Patterson Freshman Tigers with three hits.

Joaquin Tinoco struck out 14 batters on the day. The hurler also gave up two hits and two runs over six innings while walking two.

Patterson Freshman Tigers were the first to get on the board in the first when Medina doubled, scoring one run.

East Union took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Frith homered to right field, scoring two runs, to give East Union the advantage, 3-1.

Aiden Pullen began the game for East Union. The pitcher allowed seven hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out 10 and walking two.

Patterson Freshman Tigers collected 10 hits in the game. Medina drove the middle of the lineup, leading Patterson Freshman Tigers with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 3-for-4 on the day. Jude Arredondo and Victor Sanchez each collected multiple hits for Patterson Freshman Tigers. Patterson Freshman Tigers turned one double play in the game. Patterson Freshman Tigers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Tanner Stratton made the most plays with 14.

Frith drove the middle of the lineup, leading East Union with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Pullen and Frith were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for East Union while hitting back-to-back.

Next up for Patterson Freshman Tigers is a game against Mountain House on Saturday.

Patterson Junior Varsity Tigers Come Up Short Against Manteca

Patterson Junior Varsity Tigers lost to Manteca 5-1 on Monday.

Manteca got on the board in the second inning after Mykal Cerna singled, scoring one run.

Manteca added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Brody Carabello grounded out, and Patterson Junior Varsity Tigers committed an error, each scoring one run.

Eliseo Espinoza began the game for Patterson Junior Varsity Tigers. The pitcher surrendered three hits and four runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking four. Anthony Benkowski opened the game for Manteca. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Jonathan Sorci led the team with one run batted in. Alonso Mercado led Patterson Junior Varsity Tigers with two hits in three at bats. Jessie Chavez stole two bases.

Carabello drove the middle of the lineup, leading Manteca with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-3 on the day. Bode Hiatt and Cerna each collected two hits for Manteca.

Patterson Junior Varsity Tigers will travel to Manteca for their next game on Wednesday.

Patterson Varsity Tigers Defeat Manteca Behind Strong Performance From Max Medina

Max Medina struck out 11 batters as the pitcher led Patterson Varsity Tigers past Manteca 7-3 on Monday. Medina surrendered four hits and three runs over seven innings while walking two.

Patterson Varsity Tigers got on the board in the first inning after Guy Allard homered to center field, scoring two runs.

Patterson Varsity Tigers added one run in the third. Noah Cozart singled to center field, making the score 3-1.

Nate Slikker hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the fourth for the Manteca.

Slikker stepped on the mound first for Manteca. The starter gave up seven hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking none.

Patterson Varsity Tigers collected nine hits in the game. Medina, Cozart, and CJ Medina each collected two hits for Patterson Varsity Tigers. Cole Medina led Patterson Varsity Tigers with three runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Patterson Varsity Tigers turned two double plays in the game.

Slikker went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Manteca in hits. Noah Navarro and Slikker each drove in one run for Manteca.

Max Medina A Difficult Out As Patterson Varsity Tigers Defeat Buhach Colony

Max Medina collected three hits in four at bats, as Patterson Varsity Tigers defeated Buhach Colony 5-1 on Friday. Medina singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Buhach Colony opened the scoring in the first after a wild pitch scored one run.

Noah Cozart grounded out, which helped Patterson Varsity Tigers tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

A single by CJ Medina gave Patterson Varsity Tigers the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second.

Patterson Varsity Tigers added one run in the third after Patterson Varsity Tigers scored on a passed ball.

Guy Allard started on the hill for Patterson Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking none. Wesson Espinoza led things off on the bump for Buhach Colony. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking two. Eliseo Espinoza threw two innings of scoreless ball for Patterson Varsity Tigers in relief. The hurler gave up zero hits, striking out two and walking two.

Patterson Varsity Tigers tallied 13 hits in the game. Cozart, Medina, and Cole Medina each drove in one run for Patterson Varsity Tigers. Medina and Caden Lozano each stole multiple bases for Patterson Varsity Tigers. Patterson Varsity Tigers stole seven bases in the game. Patterson Varsity Tigers didn't commit a single error in the field. Andrew Garcia had the most chances in the field with eight.

Jacob Medina led Buhach Colony with one hit in three at bats.

Dustin Lara Shines as Patterson Freshman Tigers Edge Out East Union in Pitcher’s Duel

In a tightly contested battle on Saturday, the Patterson Freshman Tigers emerged victorious with a hard-fought 1-0 win over East Union. The game was defined by dominant pitching performances, with both teams showcasing stellar work on the mound.

Lara Leads the Way

Dustin Lara was the star of the game, delivering a commanding performance for Patterson. Taking the mound to start, Lara threw six innings of shutout baseball, allowing just two hits while striking out six and walking two. His ability to control the game and keep East Union’s offense in check played a crucial role in securing the win.

Joaquin Tinoco came in for relief, continuing the Tigers’ dominance on the mound. The left-hander tossed a scoreless inning, striking out two while allowing no hits.

For East Union, Pullen put up an incredible fight, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up only two hits and one run. Despite his efforts, Patterson managed to push across the game’s only run in the fourth inning.

Offense Comes Through in the Clutch

The lone run of the game came when Victor Sanchez hit into a fielder’s choice, bringing home a crucial score for the Tigers. Tinoco and Sanchez provided Patterson’s only hits, but that was all they needed with their pitchers holding strong.

Defensively, Patterson was flawless, not committing a single error. The team again showcased they would work with each other to get out of every situation.

The Patterson Freshman Tigers will face East Union once again on Monday, this time on the road. With both teams proving their competitiveness, another intense matchup is expected as the Tigers look to carry their momentum forward.
