Inspiring…. Never forgotten!

This history needs to be shared! While history textbooks rightfully celebrate the heroic fighter pilots of the 99th Pursuit Squadron, the ground crews operated under severe resource discrimination. Supplied only with broken components and outdated tools, these master mechanics manually machined custom engine valves out of scrap metal to keep the aircraft mission-ready. Their legendary ingenuity and flawless safety record directly enabled the pilots to execute hundreds of successful bomber es**rt missions across Europe without a single mechanical failure. How many of you knew about the brilliant minds keeping those planes in the sky?

One thing that sets our organization apart is that we dedicate the time to train in the field💨. The chapter held a Dry Run🎯, a rehearsal of sorts, for one of our annual events:

This year's event will be dedicated to the Courageous Kids Program
(part of the Fort Pierce Police Department) thanks to their Director, Ms. Racquel Gil!

Periodically, we'll receive additional requests throughout the year to hold this event, so these dry runs are held so that multiple chapter members are trained to host these amazing hands-on demonstrations.

Each event consists of the following...
✅ A review of the rules and regulations
✅ A walk-through of basic aerodynamics
✅ Interactive discussion of pre-flight checklist
✅ A hands-on orientation period
✅ and a RELAY RACE!
👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽where three teams of students compete with drones to develop the skills, muscle-memory and mindset to operate safely and efficiently!

Tuskegee Airmen, James C. Flowers. Still making history at 110.5 years old. 🫡 He is the oldest known living Tuskegee Airman (Intelligence and Security Officer) and the oldest known living U.S. military veteran. It is also recorded that he is the fifth oldest known living man in the U.S. Please read about his incredible life journey below. We salute you, LT. Flowers.🫡✈️❤️🤗🙏🏽

James Clayton Flowers was part of the historic group of African Americans who served the country during World War II.
