Lieutenant General Edward Soriano is documented as the highest-ranking Filipino American to serve in the United States Army.

Born in Pangasinan, Philippines, he later immigrated to the United States and was commissioned as an Army officer through the ROTC program at San Jose State University. He entered active duty as an infantry officer and advanced through progressively senior roles.

Over the course of his military career, Soriano served in command and staff assignments in the United States, South Korea, and Europe, including senior leadership positions at the Pentagon. He was promoted to lieutenant general before retiring from active duty in 2005.

His service is widely cited as a milestone in Filipino American representation within the U.S. Armed Forces.
