The Etienne Family Foundation started in 2007 by Derrick Etienne Jr. at age 11 under the name Futbol Friendz as an outreach effort to collect and distribute gently used soccer gear to underprivileged children in Haiti. Consistently collecting gear from teammates, Derrick Jr.'s sisters Darice and Danielle joined in b

y reaching their friends and teammates as well who were willing to support the effort. In 2011, Futbol Friendz became the community outreach effort of the Etienne Soccer School of Excellence founded by Derrick Sr. and Darrell Etienne. Collaborating with his sisters Darice and Dani, along with cousins and other family members who coach at various clubs and who are involved with empowering youth, Futbol Friends was able to bless hundreds of aspiring soccer players in Haiti with soccer equipment. After the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, Futbol Friends led by Derrick Etienne Jr. partnered with the IHELP Mission of the Latter Glory Church of Paterson, NJ and Etienne Ministries led by Derrick Etienne Sr., Etienne Soccer School led by Darrell Etienne, and Northern Virginia Soccer Club led by Hans Etienne to collect and distribute soccer equipment, personal care items, socks and under clothes, food, backpacks, and school supplies for children. In 2013, this same partnership undertook a collaborative Missions Trip under the direction of International Programs and Missions director, Jennifer Etienne-Valtrin, to Jacmel and Leogane, Haiti underneath the LGC IHELP HAITI Banner. On this mission we provided food, clothing and toys to over 250 children as well as sponsored a Soccer Tournament within the Belloc Leogane, Haiti community. In 2016, Derrick Jr. took the initial vision of Futbol Friendz and expanded it by starting THE ETIENNE FAMILY FOUNDATION, a non profit 501(c)3 corporation forging partnerships with Our Etienne Family, our Faith Family, and our Futbol Family, endeavoring to make a greater impact on youth, families, and communities in need domestically and internationally.
