American Karachai-Kavkaz Benevolent Association AKBA is a federally recognized 501(c)3 status non-profit organization that serves a local community.

AKBA - The American Karachai-Kavkaz Benevolent Association was officially formed in November of 1989. Its mission is to pass on Karachai culture, heritage and traditional etiquette through education, language, sport, music, and dance. AKBA - Amerikan Karaçay Kafkas Derneği 1989 yılının Kasim ayında kuruldu. MİSYONU; Amerikada yaşayan Karaçay-Malkar halkını dil, müzik-dans gibi sanatsal çalışmalar

Join AKBA on Saturday, May 2, for our annual flag raising ceremony and car parade in honor of Karachay Revival Day! We invite all to participate as we celebrate the rehabilitation of our people to our homeland after years of exile. The schedule for the day is as follows:

❇️12 PM - Flag Raising at Paterson City Hall

❇️1:30 PM - Meet at Ulu Cami for car parade

❇️2 PM - Return to Ulu Cami for celebratory BBQ and treats

📚 Karachay Language Classes begin this Friday, April 10! Classes will be held every Friday at AKBA, in the 2nd floor classroom. Group 1 will be from 5:30 - 6:30 PM and Group 2 will be from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Classes are free for AKBA members. Please note times may be subject to change depending on dance class schedules.
