This is why PACOPAD advocates for services, safety and opportunities for our adults with developmental disabilities and Autism. After 21, the rug is pulled from under these children's feet and their world collapse. No more yellow bus, therapies or consistency. Unlike other individuals who go on to college or work, the majority of our grown children are left to navigate a limited and hostile world of limited options and dwindling funding.
We need to change this.
Join us. Stay informed. Network, advocate and keep close to the families looking for better ways to support our adults with developmental disabilities and Autism.

Today we lost an icon that our adults with developmental disabilities can relate to. Her smile was contagious and all those shiny rhinestones were very eye catching.

We have a debt of gratitude and unpaid attention to the siblings of children with developmental disabilities and Autism. Plus no sleepovers, holidays canceled on a minute's notice, parties subject to good days, broken toys, ruined homework and hair pulled.
Parenting a child with developmental disabilities and Autism is hard. But being a sibling to one is possibly harder.

Thursday will mark Billy Cray's ninth year anniversary. His death was known hours after his passing, in a New Jersey group home. This case in Maine is eerily similar. Coroner reports that this individual was dead for at least six hours. Stories don't add up, then and now.
We need cameras in group homes.
Please call Asm Sterling Stanley and Senator Vitale’s legislative offices. Tell them your loves ones horrific abuse in his or her group homes urging them to move bills A 2705/S1172/A 4008.
Ask your family members, friends co workers and to do the same.
