Nadia Hussain and Tania Chowdhury came together after realizing there were great unmet needs for the Bangladeshi community in Paterson, NJ and decided to establish BAWDI to address these needs to empower this community. The Paterson Bangladeshi community has been in this city for over 30 years, and number in over 10,000 yet there is no space for women to connect with one another or to get importa

nt resources for self-empowerment. BAWDI hopes to change this and grow opportunities and connections for the Bangladeshi women in Paterson and their families.
