🏠⚠️ New Jersey's housing affordability crisis is getting worse.

The National Low Income Housing Coalition's 2026 Out of Reach report found that New Jersey now has the 5th highest housing wage in the nation, up from the 7th spot just last year.

This means a full-time worker must earn nearly $40 per hour to afford a modest two-bedroom rental home without being cost-burdened. That's more than 2.5 times the state's minimum wage.

At Passaic County Habitat for Humanity, we see the impact of this crisis every day.

That's why we're committed to creating affordable homeownership opportunities, preserving existing homes through critical repairs and rehabilitation, and helping families build long-term stability, not just find a place to live.
