Our sister Troop, 7023, is holding a recruiting event on October 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the cabin to reach out to families of young girls that might be interested in Scouting. I guess I am just somewhat oblivious, but I just discovered there are 285 (?) followers of Pataskala 21 BSA. Some from far away. This is amazing to a small Troop Scouter who only sought to stay in touch with some parents and former members. I know I find it interesting to drop in on Troop pages to find how I can "steal" ideas that might benefit Troop 21, but it never occurred to me someone might find us interesting.

I am not a highly experienced Facebooker (in fact pretty dumb) so I don't spend more than a few minutes at a time paying attention or learning how to make this group page better. I apologize for not welcoming every follower as they joined (if that is something I can know; see, dumb), but you are most welcome to view us and give any comments you want. I welcome all comments because even negative comments can improve how I perform as admin.

Here are some photos from the flooding aftermath.

We are still recovering from the flooding that hit Pataskala last week. The Krehbiel cabin is 81 years old and it had never had flood water reach it. Until now. We had 18 inches of water in the cabin and the flow over the street washed everything outside downstream. Luckily, it appears the current stayed in the flood plain and not into the river. We have cleaned the mud out and fans have dried the walls and floor. Now we are down to cleaning tents and other gear and putting it all away.

The London New Year's Day Parade will be broadcast on WOSU TV Channel 34, Thursday, at 2:00 PM. The Southwest Licking marching band will be in the parade. WOSU noted the best marching bands in the world are in the parade.
