đź’ś Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day đź’ś

Today, we celebrate the educators who do so much more than teach. They inspire, encourage, and show up every day for their students—often in ways that go unseen.

From recognizing a student in need to creating a classroom where every child feels valued, their impact reaches far beyond the school day.

We are deeply grateful for the care, dedication, and heart they pour into every student they serve.

Take a moment to thank a teacher who made a difference in your life đź’ś

Basic needs are urgent needs. Filling them is how neighborhood bridges communities show up for students—every single day.

How we work:
Advocates identify real needs: Trusted educators flag barriers students are facing.

Needs are shared locally: Requests are emailed to our community of subscribers.

The community responds: Donations, gift cards, and support come in quickly through our easy on-line process.

Barriers are removed: Students and families get what they need—right when it matters.

This is what happens when neighbors help neighbors. Small acts. Big impact.

💜 We’re Growing—and We Need You!

As neighborhood bridges continues to grow, so does our need for a few very special volunteers.

We’re looking to for a Volunteer Social Media Manager in every community we serve—someone who can help share needs, tell stories, and connect the community to the impact happening every day.

Today’s email has all the details—take a moment to check it out and see how you can be part of this work.

At neighborhood bridges, we know food insecurity creates real barriers to learning—no child should have to learn on an empty stomach, and no child should ever go to school hungry. 💜

Through the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our advocates, and partnerships with other local non-profits, we work together to ensure students have access to nutritious food and snacks—giving them the fuel they need to thrive in school.

Please donate today to help us provide food, hope, and brighter futures for children in need.

đź’ś Growing to Serve More Communities

As neighborhood bridges continues to grow, so does our foundation's team—working behind the scenes to support 70 communities and counting.

It takes a dedicated team to make this work possible—and we’re so grateful for the people who show up every day to serve others.

We are determined to drive impact to one million students in need, then we will set our sites on reaching two million at-risk students in half the time!

We receive notes from all our communities and it reminds us that small acts can make a big difference in a student or family’s life—and that what we do truly matters.

We recently honored Mad River Local Schools Superintendent Chad Wyen with the neighborhood bridges Founders Award.

Since his school community launched with neighborhood bridges in 2022, Chad has been all in! He puts the work of neighborhood bridges on a higher plane, and supports it with his time and leadership. Chad sets an inviting, supportive, and inspiring tone for Mad River Local Schools -- and it is easy to see how it impacts the community. Everyone is quick to join-in and support local students and families in need.

Sending out a big “congratulations” and gratitude for the work he does. Thank you, Chad!

When our Mad River (OH) community launched, Area Director Caitlyn Williams hit the ground running. Since August 2022, the community has filled 380 needs, generating $358,653.25 in direct giving to impact 10,462 students and families in need!

In addition to managing day-to-day activities with passion and commitment, Caitlyn located space in a church close to the high school to set up the Care Closet. It is a large “free store” that students can visit to pick up essentials like clothing, personal care items, and supplies.

Caitlyn is selfless, kind, and determined. We recently recognized her tireless support of her school community and our mission with the neighborhood bridged Founder’s Award. Sending out a big “congratulations” and gratitude for the work she does. Thank you, Caitlyn!
