Brief description of Current University Heritage Society Divisions:

Heritage Retreats brings together young adults from across the denominational spectrum. Participants learn with renowned educators and participate in activities, which help them appreciate the joy of community building and what it means to lead a connected Jewish life. Over the course of the session, participants take ownersh

ip of their Jewish identity, develop themselves as human beings, and begin a journey of lifelong Jewish learning and community involvement. Heritage Wilderness Experiences utilizes experiential learning concepts to nurture a more meaningful understanding of Jewish values and identity through the lens of torah. Heritage Scholars is conducted on college campuses throughout the country, Heritage Scholars is an incentive based learning program designed to spark an interest in unaffiliated students to engage their Judaism. Students selected from across the denominational spectrum participate in an intensive ten week program. Scholars join in interactive weekly seminars, given by local educators and lay leaders, covering a range of ideas in Judaism designed so that participants see how Judaism speaks to their lives. Additionally, Shabbatons, textual learning, and discussion groups provide meaningful engagement in Jewish traditions and values. Students connect with lay leaders and educators who provide positive role modeling and foster genuine Jewish leadership. Heritage Exchange fosters interdenominational understanding and Jewish unity by providing a form and training for observant young adults to work with those with unaffiliated young adults. Thoughts for Shabbat, our weekly Torah publication, is read by over a thousand people weekly. Heritage in the City, weekly classes in Manhattan, allows us to connect to young adults in various capacities. Executive Learning focuses on guaranteeing the Jewish people the future leaders of the Jewish people through personalized education. Heritage Adventures: currently provides the umbrella infrastructure for the programming that Heritage provides for families, renewal programming for mature adults as well as programming for fathers and sons.
