The Joe D. Shelton Memorial Award honors the legacy of Joe D. Shelton by recognizing organizations that exemplify selfless service, leadership, and a deep commitment to supporting those who serve others.

Service Peace Warriors is one of the 2025 award recipients, embodying these values through its mission to provide highly trained service dogs to current and former first responders and service members, creating a meaningful and lasting impact on their lives and well-being.

The Joe D. Shelton Memorial Award is an initiative of Vista Hermosa Foundation, which stewards a family legacy of "bearing fruit that will last" through servant leadership, community building and philanthropy.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Joe D. Shelton Memorial Award for their incredible generosity, which makes a meaningful impact in our community. Thanks to the support provided by the Joe D. Shelton Award this year, Service Peace Warriors can keep delivering life-changing service dogs to Veterans and First Responders living with service-connected PTSD.

By the end of 2025, we proudly have placed 102 service dogs in 10 years with Veterans and First Responders who need them most. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of individuals, organizations, clubs, and foundations. Each service dog represents far more than companionship—it is a lifeline that restores independence, confidence, and hope.

Looking ahead to 2026, our goal is to place 15 additional service dogs with those who have served our country and communities. The Joe D. Shelton Award will help cover essential costs such as food and treats for these remarkable dogs during their training. Your generosity ensures that these heroes receive the support that truly transforms lives.

We are thrilled to welcome new community members and continue building a vibrant, connected neighborhood. As part of this commitment, Tierra Vida recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and the completion of Phase III.

Tierra Vida is a neighborhood of the Jubilee Foundation, which carries forward a family legacy of “bearing fruit that will last” through servant leadership, community building, and philanthropy.

A safe and resilient neighborhood, Tierra Vida exemplifies and validates Jubilee’s approach to fostering strong, thriving communities.

On October 13, Tierra Vida’s streets filled with smiles as residents, staff, and members of the Tri-Cities, WA community celebrated Phase III’s completion - a milestone reflecting shared effort, connection, and community spirit.

We are proud of building intentional communities. On October 13th, One of our initiatives Tierra Vida held a ribbon cutting along with the community members, staff and members of the Tri-Cities community. We are excited for this next chapter of building community together in Phase III.

Broetje Family Trust is an association of three foundations collectively stewarding a family legacy of “bearing fruit that will last” through servant leadership, community building, and philanthropy.

We are committed to 1) live and teach the ethic of Christ-centered service through servant leadership development; 2) nurture and create new communities of healing and mutual service locally and internationally; and 3) place resources at the service of those communities.

Through this collective work, we seek to heal connections to self, others, God, and Creation.

Our three foundations steward the following initiatives:
