Thank you St. Patrick Catholic Parish-Pasco for this outstanding donation! 44 pallets of goods will go to families in Spokane and surrounding areas affected by fires. From shoes to baby supplies to households goods and bedding and more. Your generosity will surely be a light for many!

This morning, Alonso loaded the truck full of fresh food and donations headed to Spokane to help our colleagues with fire relief efforts.

If you ever feel like you’re not sure how to make a difference for those who are at a distance from the Tri-Cities, know that we’ve got you covered. Second Harvest in total serves 26 counties, and our Pasco location alone primarily focuses on the 9 closest to us. We’re the hub of agriculture and process over 14 million pounds of produce every year.

Support is coming from those near and far.

Audrianna runs Next Level Roofing and Construction with her family on the westside of the mountains, but Pasco is where she’s from. She and her crew drove all the way to us in Pasco to deliver a truck full of food and goods to support those affected by fires in Spokane and surrounding areas.

The kind folks from the Burbank Farmers Market also took in donations of food and personal items and delivered them to us yesterday.

This is what it takes. People from all over, doing what they can.

We’ll make sure these donations reach those who need it this week.

A Little Room to Breathe

Ana and her family had barely returned from traveling when evacuation alerts sent them right back out the door. With three children, visiting family members and many of their everyday necessities sitting inside a home they couldn’t access, Ana described the experience as “just like restarting.”

Food and other resources have helped make that restart a little easier. “It’s less stress on me and my family,” she said. “We’re like, OK, we can kind of breathe a little bit and just kind of focus on the things we need to focus on.”

What has surprised Ana most is how quickly people have stepped forward to help. “Seeing everybody just swoop in and just help with no judgment too is amazing to me.”
