Notice of Cancellation: Chelan Race

Due to safety concerns for our racers, we regret to inform you that the Chelan Race has been cancelled.

Recent flooding in surrounding areas and rising lake levels have carried a significant amount of debris into the water. Many branches and logs are floating down the river and into the marina, creating unsafe conditions on the course.

After reviewing reports from our Race Director and local contacts, the Board of Directors determined that the safety of our racers, volunteers, and spectators must come first. We understand how disappointing this is and did not make this decision lightly. Attached are a few photos taken today from the area. All registered participants will be refunded their entry fee to the original form of payment.

NWPBA board member Chris Denslow passed away on August 31st. He was a huge part of everything that we did for the Richland Regatta. He was a good friend to boat racing, and to us! Boat racing will be missing him, and remembering him through the pictures that he has shared with all of us. Until we see you again, RIP!
