๐๐ This weekend, Marley found a job!
Marley had been rescued by a good samaritan from a neglectful situation and reached out to POPP for help homing her. When our dog adoption coordinator, Amanda, met Marley, she immediately saw that Marley was a ball-driven dog with potential.
๐พBall-driven dogs don't want treats and they aren't in need of human affection: they just want their ball. Marley could find a hidden tennis ball with great enthusiasm and speed.
๐ฎSo Amanda reached out to the Department of Corrections. They came over from Walla Walla on Sunday to test Marley, and she passed with flying colors! Now, Marley is in official training with the Department of Corrections and she will live the exciting and rewarding life of a working dog.
โค๏ธ Its important to see potential in all dogs, including rescue dogs: they are not "damaged goods". Despite their early setbacks, rescue dogs can be truly amazing pups.
