Tri Cities Diversity and Inclusion Council We strengthen communities by building knowledge, deepening connection, and expanding access across systems so people can live with dignity and care.

Tri-Cities Diversity & Inclusion Council is a 501c3 nonprofit organization made up of passionate individuals who want to create positive change. Our group came together with a common goal to create an inclusive environment where all members of the community feel valued and respected regardless of their differences. The Tri-Cities Diversity & Inclusion Council strives to advocate for marginalized c

ommunity members, provide training and educational resources to local businesses, support community organizations that share common goals, and hold neighborhood events to help create cultural competency and awareness. The Tri-Cities Diversity & Inclusion Council members are meant to be representatives of the communities diverse populations and ideally will represent different ethnicities, religious beliefs, socioeconomic statuses, physical abilities, career experiences,
educational backgrounds and/or other diversity.

Today, we honor Women’s Equality Day by recognizing the women whose courage, intelligence, leadership, and innovation have shaped history, whether their names were celebrated or their stories remained unsung. 💚

While progress has been made, women remain underrepresented in many leadership and decision making spaces. Equality requires more than acknowledgment. It requires action. We can amplify women’s voices, mentor and sponsor emerging leaders, support women owned businesses, challenge bias, and create opportunities for women to lead.

August is Black Business Month 🖤💼✨

Black entrepreneurship has always been about more than business. It is about innovation, independence, opportunity, community, resilience, and generational wealth.

From the legacy of Madam C.J. Walker and Tulsa’s historic Black Wall Street to today’s Black entrepreneurs building businesses across the country, Black business ownership continues to shape our economy and our communities.

But growth does not mean the barriers have disappeared.

Access to capital, equitable lending, investment opportunities, and systemic disparities continue to influence who gets the opportunity to start, sustain, and scale a business.

So this month, we’re asking you to go beyond simply celebrating Black businesses. Think deeper. Learn the history. Examine the barriers. And take action. ✊🏾

🌍 Today, on World Humanitarian Day, we honor humanitarian workers and the local responders who are often the first to arrive when crisis, conflict, and displacement disrupt communities.

But recognition is not enough.

In 2016, major donors and aid organizations pledged that 25% of humanitarian funding would go directly to local and national responders. Yet in 2022, only 4.7% reached them directly.

The people closest to a crisis often understand their communities best, respond first, and remain long after international attention disappears. So why are they still among the last to control the resources? 🤔
