This past Saturday was powerful.

Women showed up as themselves. Not who the world tells them they should be. Not who they’ve had to become just to survive spaces that were never designed with them in mind. Just themselves.

During our Building a Sisterhood Through Collective Healing social, we created space for women to connect, reflect, laugh, learn, and simply be. Through activities, conversation, and our Real Colors workshop intentionally centered with women of color in mind, women were encouraged to take up space, use their voices, share parts of their identity, and practice showing up fully and authentically.

For many women of color, we’ve been socially conditioned to shrink ourselves, stay quiet, make ourselves “easier” for others, and disconnect from parts of who we are. Saturday gave us an opportunity to challenge some of that conditioning together.

There was something powerful about watching women introduce themselves beyond titles, responsibilities, and survival mode. Watching women be vulnerable, honest, joyful, and seen without judgment. Watching community begin to build in real time.

Not all of the women who attended are pictured here, but we want to thank every woman who showed up for herself and for this sisterhood. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in community, in connection, and in spaces where we feel safe enough to be fully ourselves.

Thank you for trusting us, trusting each other, and continuing this journey of collective healing together.💛

Pride Month is more than celebration. It is history, resistance, visibility, courage, and community.

This post highlights the impact of Marsha P. Johnson, a Black transgender activist, performer, and trailblazer whose advocacy helped shape the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. From the Stonewall uprising to creating spaces for marginalized LGBTQ+ individuals, her legacy continues to inspire generations today.

Why does this matter?
Because representation matters. History matters. Human dignity matters. And understanding the people who fought for visibility, safety, and equality helps us better understand the ongoing pursuit of justice and inclusion.

We ask you to reflect on Marsha's legacy, and come on out to support PRIDE here locally! -CitiesPride

A day of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude.
Memorial Day honors the service members who lost their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is a solemn reminder that the freedoms many experience today came at a profound cost.
What It Is
Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May and is dedicated to remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice in military service.
Why It Matters
Honoring this day:
• Preserves the memory of those who served
• Acknowledges the sacrifices of military families
• Encourages civic reflection and gratitude
• Reminds us of the human cost of conflict

🎬 Lights. Culture. Community. Conversation.

Join Columbia Basin College for their Hispanic Film Festival this May and June at 6:30 PM in SWL 121 or 221! 🍿✨ Featuring powerful films that explore identity, resilience, culture, family, social issues, and lived experiences across Hispanic and Latino communities.

Why does this matter?
Because storytelling creates empathy. Film allows us to see different perspectives, challenge assumptions, preserve culture, and deepen our understanding of one another in ways statistics and headlines cannot. Representation matters and spaces like this help build connection, education, and inclusion within our community. ❤️

Ask yourself:
🎥 When was the last time a film truly changed your perspective?
🌎 How can cultural storytelling help bring communities together?

Bring a friend, classmate, family member, or colleague and experience conversations that extend beyond the screen.
