Wema is the Swahili word for goodness, as in, “The goodness of the Lord,” or “The fruit of the Spirit is goodness.” We have experienced the Lord’s incredible goodness in our own lives and we’re on a journey of transformation because of it. Wema Ventures aims to break poverty’s grip in individual lives and communities through training and assistance for micro enterprise and the development of smal

l to medium sized businesses that provide gainful employment for many while operating as outposts of the Kingdom of God. Through relational or formalized partnerships, Wema works toward dignifying economic sustainability for local people. Toward this end, Wema Ventures forms strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations and individuals, whether they be donors who give time or funding, or teammates on the ground. We believe that the best development in needy regions like Africa involves not only the development of a viable economic sustainability, but also of authentic faith in the living Christ. We’re involved in Biblical studies, life groups, spiritual direction, prayer groups, teaching, preaching, mentoring and one to one spurring each other on in Christ. We write, travel, speak, meet for lunch or gather on our porch… Whatever best suits the need. We take expeditions with visitors, drink chai with locals and wrestle with faith and following Christ on a daily basis. We provide opportunities for growth in Christ among Africans and non-Africans alike, participating with them on the journey. We are especially drawn to those who don’t yet profess to know Him and those who are stumbling forward, like we are
