Weโre kicking off our 2027 Rose Parade journey with a BANG as we proudly announce our VERY FIRST Outwalker for the 2027 Rotary Rose Parade Float! ๐น
PDG Tonya L. Watson, Ph.D. grew up in the Deep South, in rural Georgia. In the year 2000, Tonya moved cross-country to Flagstaff, Arizona and remains enchanted with this wonderful, varied state.
She is an FAA-licensed private pilot who likes to fly just for fun. In addition to reading and hiking, her favorite pastime is travel. She has visited all 50 U.S. states, and 69 countries on all seven continents.
Tonya is extremely proud to be a Rotarian for over 25 years. Before becoming District Governor in 2016-17, she served in multiple roles, such as AG, GSE Team Leader to Bangladesh and is active in her home club, The Rotary Club of Flagstaff (President, 2008-09 and 2021-22). She is a member of The Rotary Foundationโs Arch Klumph Society (AKS) and The Legacy Society.
Tonya has been privileged to see the tremendous impact Rotary has throughout the world and is humbled and honored to be a leader in such a powerful, life-changing organization.
Tonya is extremely excited to be able to walk alongside the Rotary Rose Parade Float. โI was always told that life is not a bed of roses โฆ nope, itโs a float of roses (even better)!โ
