It’s mating season for our desert bighorn, also known as the “rut”. Male rams compete for dominance and access to mate with the females (ewes). Rams can smash into each other, at speeds of up to 40 mph (64 km/h). Only the strongest will win the right to mate.

We’ve seen it asked; “why don’t you do that [work] when it’s cooler”? Trust us, we don’t always like working in 100° + days and we are sometimes able to schedule work during cooler weather.

Happening: live right now!
Volunteers from SCBS, CA WSF and CDFW are responding to a sudden water loss at the Newberry wildlife Water development. A pipe broke on Friday afternoon, causing a sudden water loss at the system. Arioch M’Greene is on site right now, making repairs while sheep wait for water and look on. More help is on the way, we should have this system, partially filled and repaired by noon today.
