Last week, the city of Pasadena celebrated Older Americans Month!

A big thank you to all of our amazing sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and community partners who helped make the 2026 Older Americans Month Resource Fair such a wonderful success!

We loved seeing so many community members engaging in the live demonstrations, connecting with valuable resources, and picking up resource bags throughout the event. Your energy, participation, and support truly made the day special.

This event would not have been possible without everyone who contributed their time, talents, and dedication to serving our older adult community. Thank you for helping us celebrate Older Americans Month in such a meaningful way!

Mayor Victor Gordo presented a proclamation in honor of Older Americans Month from the Pasadena City Council to members of the Senior Commission, representatives from Pasadena Village, and local business leaders on May 4. Each year, we celebrate older adults in the month of May during this national commemoration. The 2026 theme of Older Americans Month is Champion Your Health which focuses on prevention, wellness, and personal responsibility as cornerstones of healthy aging.

Executive Director Katie Brandon encouraged the council members and all older adults to join her and fellow commissioners at the fifth annual Pasadena Celebrates Older Americans Month on 5/20 at Victory Park.

Last week, we came together to celebrate everyone who makes Pasadena Village such a vibrant, caring community 💛

In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Month, our annual gathering was a meaningful time to reflect on the values that guide us: Service and Appreciation. We shared gratitude for the many individuals who give their time, energy, and talents to support one another and strengthen our community.

To all of our incredible volunteers and Villagers—thank you. Your generosity and spirit are what make this community thrive.

And a special thanks to the Altadena Rotary for their continued support.

Are you and your pets ready for disaster? On 4/10, Carmel Mims of Pet Porter Pals shared an informative presentation about how to prepare for disaster. Due to generous support from the American Red Cross, about a dozen participants were not only able to review the information to make their personal plans, but also packed their own starter go bags. Join us at future free Prepared 50+ workshops. The next one is 4/22 with the LA County Office of Emergency Management.
