It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Peter Stephen Bing, one of LACC’s most beloved and enduring supporters.

For 35 years, Peter and his wife, Helen Bing, believed that every child deserved the chance to experience the world through music. Through their generous support of our Tour Financial Aid fund, the Bings have made it possible for hundreds of choristers to experience the life-changing impact of touring: singing, traveling, and building life-long friendships. His legacy will live on through those singers’ lives he helped shape.

We are heartbroken by this loss and send our deepest love to Helen, their daughter Mary, their grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. ❤️❤️❤️

Photos of the many tours we have been lucky to go on thanks to the generosity of the Bing Family.

In 1992, LACC choristers boarded a plane for the very first time as cultural ambassadors for Los Angeles — destination Austria, Germany, and Hungary.

They carried with them something no suitcase could hold — the bel canto sound of LACC, shared with audiences thousands of miles from home.

That first tour sparked a tradition spanning more than 20 countries and 6 continents over three decades. Music was never meant to stay in one place. 🎶🌎❤️

“Imagine” by John Lennon sang at our Tour Send-Off Concert last summer before the British Isles.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

During last year's British Isles Tour, Concert Choir and Chamber Singers performed Abbie Bettinis' "Love is Love is Love is Love" at Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London. We invited our audience to sing this powerful anthem with us, to amplify the room with love.

At LACC, every child is seen, celebrated, and welcomed exactly as they are. We stand with our LGBTQ+ community this month and always.

Today we honor Marjorie Lowe, a beloved LACC educator whose gentleness, passion, and joy touched the lives of countless young choristers.

Marjorie was a music educator in the truest sense. She taught in LA public schools, directed church and community choirs, taught piano, and brought her boundless passion for music to LACC, where she taught musicianship and directed Prep Choir. Children adored her. Her joy was contagious. To know Marjorie was to feel the warmth of someone who truly believed in the power of music to shape a life.

One of our own staff, Eric Lifland, was eight years old when Marjorie was his very first choir director! Fifteen years later, he found himself working alongside her at LACC. A full circle moment he'll never forget.

Her influence lives on in every child who sang under her direction and in every one of us who had the privilege of working alongside her. We are so grateful for you, Marjorie. Rest in beautiful music.

We saved the best for last. ❤️

After last week’s accidental rehearsal post (hey, it was THAT good!), here is the real thing! LACC@HOLA’s actual final concert of the season, alongside Children’s Orchestra, singing Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” in Spanish. What an extraordinary group of young artists. 🎶
