Our next honoree, Dr. Jamila Cupid!
Dr. Jamila Cupid is an international scholar, educator, author, orator, and communications strategist whose work focuses on public relations, digital media, organizational belonging, culture, and equity. She has taught future public relations professionals and executives at Pepperdine University, Shippensburg University, and Lincoln University.
Her scholarship explores workplace inclusion, representation, immigrant and Indigenous community voices, and the intersection of culture and digital media. She is also co-author of Who’s in the Room?: A Guide to Public Relations from a Black Public Relations Perspective, the first public relations handbook written by Black professionals.
A former agency professional, Dr. Cupid has worked with Fleishman-Hillard, MWW Group, and MediaCom and has advised organizations and university leaders on communications and culture. She earned degrees from Boston University and Howard University and has studied internationally in Brazil and Cuba.
