The International Volunteer Games brought together in Greece 858 volunteers from New Acropolis and its School of Sport, representing *24 countries from every continent*, to experience sport as a path of human development, self-improvement, and fraternity.

The gathering took place in *Olympia, at the facilities of the International Olympic Academy*, a setting deeply connected to the history and classical tradition of Greece, and especially meaningful for reflecting on sport and the values that unite human beings.

Over several days, competitions were held in *track, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, archery, chess, Acroball, tug of war, rhythmic gymnastics, and Greco-Roman wrestling*.

The program also brought together philosophy and culture through a series of lectures — including one given by the *International Director of New Acropolis* — presentations, and archaeological visits to *Olympia, Sparta, Delphi, and Ancient Messene*.

The Games are an initiative of *New Acropolis*, organized through its *School of Sport with Heart*, which brings together sport, philosophy, and volunteering as tools for the integral development of the human being.

Beyond the results, every experience was an opportunity to put into practice discipline, respect, perseverance, teamwork, and fellowship.

*858 participants. 24 countries. Every continent. One shared ideal of self-improvement and fraternity.*

ATHLOS.
An ancient word used to name the feat, the trial, the labor of the hero.
From it comes athlētēs: the one who performs great deeds.
In the Greek world, competition was not simply about measuring oneself against others.
It was about facing the impossible, transforming effort into character, and turning every challenge into an opportunity to grow.

That is why athletics is not a metaphor for heroism.
It is its direct continuation.

Happy Fourth of July!

Today, we celebrate the enduring ideals of freedom, human dignity, and the pursuit of happiness.

For the past 69 years, New Acropolis has promoted Philosophy, Culture, and Volunteering, inspired by three principles:

Fraternity, respect for the dignity of every human being and unity beyond our differences.
Knowledge, the love of wisdom through the study of philosophy, sciences, religions, and the arts. Development, bringing out the best in each person through self-improvement, responsible action, and harmony with Nature.

As we celebrate this day, may these values continue to inspire us to build a freer, wiser, and more compassionate world together.
