2026 TASFA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 🎓

Ancla de Esperanza ⚓️ 💜and Your Abogada Sintia 💕 are thrilled to announce that our annual scholarship program is back for the Class of 2026! 🌟

We believe in investing in the bright, driven future of our community—especially students who continue to persevere despite systemic barriers. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻

This year, our scholarship program is dedicated to supporting our incredible TASFA students. ❤️

🤔 What is TASFA?
TASFA stands for the Texas Application for State Financial Aid. It is the financial aid application used by undocumented, DACA, and certain non-citizen Texas residents who are not eligible for federal financial aid (FAFSA), but may qualify for Texas state financial aid.

📚 Why TASFA Students?
Many TASFA students face significant legal, financial, and emotional challenges while pursuing higher education. Without access to federal grants and aid, the journey to college or trade school can be especially difficult. During these uncertain times, we believe these students deserve meaningful support, encouragement, and opportunity.

At Ancla de Esperanza and Sintia Solis Law Firm, we want students to know that immigration status should never stand in the way of their brilliance, ambition, and dreams. Whether your next step is a university, community college, or trade school, we are honored to support your future.

📋 Eligibility Requirements:
✔️ Must be a graduating high school senior — Class of 2026

✔️ Must be a Pasadena ISD (PISD) student or alumnus
✔️ Must be a TASFA applicant/student
✔️ Must provide proof of acceptance for Fall 2026 (University, College, or Trade School)
✔️ Must submit a short statement explaining why you should be selected for this scholarship

💰 Scholarship Awards:
We will award THREE (3) $1,000 scholarships this year.

⏰ Application Deadline:
July 21, 2026 at 11:59 PM

We invite you to sponsor a child/children who are experiencing hardship and could benefit from your support. Your sponsorship will give the children in the family the chance to be selected to receive a gift bag which will include a Christmas gift generously provided by Anchor of Hope Sponsors.

Why Sponsor?
Bring hope to a child going through a difficult time along his/her family;
Make a real, tangible impact on a child’s life;
Give a helping hand to a local family going through a hardship;
Strengthen our community by showing support and empathy.

Each bag will include:
Information about a child aged 0-18 you’ll be shopping for;
A blank card to add your personal touch and warm wishes;
3 gift items, with a total value of $20-$50.

Deadline for Drop-off of the gifts:

THE LAST DAY to drop off gifts at Sintia Solis Law Firm will be NOVEMBER 24TH, 2025.

•Families must be experiencing hardship in addition to financial difficulties (provide brief description of hardship);

•Must be a resident of Pasadena or South Houston;

*Deadline for family nominations is November 23rd, 2025.

Anchor of Hope was founded in 2014 with a heartfelt mission: to lift our community above life’s most difficult storms. Since then, we’ve stood hand in hand with families during their darkest moments—whether it was delivering food and water in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, providing essential support to parents and children in crisis, or spreading joy through programs like Back to School with AOH, Hopesgiving, and Hope for Christmas.

We believe that hope changes everything. That’s why, in partnership with PISD, we mentor students through our Teen Outreach Program, guiding the next generation to dream bigger, push harder, and rise above the challenges life throws their way.

If your family is struggling—whether because of the deportation or prolonged detention of a loved one, or any other life-altering hardship—you are not alone. Anchor of Hope is here to stand with you, to bring relief, and to remind you that there is a way forward.
