In an environment of love, care and hope, Villa Esperanza Services provides the tools and support necessary for children, adults and seniors with special needs to achieve their goals, live fulfilling lives and embrace a sense of belonging and acceptance. Villa serves individuals with developmental disabilities inclu

ding more than twenty different diagnoses. Our wide variety of programs and services assist infants to seniors in addition to providing support and encouragement to their families. We change lives—from teaching a child with autism how to say “hello;” to giving an adult with Down syndrome the skills to earn a paycheck and the pride of having a job; to providing an intellectually disabled senior the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteering and helping others. Our customized and comprehensive programs for children centralized on a single campus:

• Hjelte-Phillips Speech and Language Center
• Occupational therapy clinic
• Behavioral therapy
• Early intervention services

Our personalized programs for adults integrated throughout the community:
• Employment services
• Family-style residential homes
• Independent living apartments
• Independent living skills coaching
• Community-integrated skills training
• Day programs for adults and seniors

As a non-profit organization, Villa serves more than 600 individuals and their families each year in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Since 1961 we have been a leader in advocating and advancing services for the developmentally disabled community. Villa excels in offering progressive and innovative approaches and solutions. Our ability to forecast and meet the changing needs of our clients has established us as a unique service provider, offering individualized programs and a continuum of care over the course of a lifetime.

Celebrating 65 years of incredible service to our community was truly unforgettable! Our campus was filled with energy, laughter, and connection as guests enjoyed fun interactive games hosted by Villa's programs, adorable animals at the petting zoo, and delicious food. Everyone had a fantastic time connecting and making memories.

We were honored to have a few legislator representatives stop by and share heartfelt words in our honor — thank you to Xalma Palomino, District Representative Office of Senator Sasha Renée Pérez, Declan Floyd, District Director Assemblymember John Harabedian and Taylor Spira, Assemblymember Steve Bennett's office for your support and encouragement!

A huge shoutout to for the amazing surround sound, for the fun keepsakes, for the animal therapy, for providing essential information and for the delicious catering.

Last week Villa's adult Community Integration Program (CIP) participants spent the day volunteering at Art Trek in Thousand Oaks and had a wonderful time! These opportunities are fantastic for building life skills, fine motor development, problem-solving, self-expression, and the kind of easy, natural social interaction that can sometimes be hard to find. Our participants continue showing up as valued members of our community, volunteering, contributing, and thriving! 🎨 ✏️

🎉 Celebrate National Speech-Language-Hearing Month with Villa Esperanza Services! 🎉

Villa is excited to honor Speech-Language-Hearing Month by sharing valuable information, resources, and fun activities all month long! Our goal is to raise awareness about communication disorders and how early intervention can make a difference in people's lives.

If you're concerned about a loved one’s communication skills, here’s what you can do:
👉 Talk to your primary care physician for evaluation options
👉 For children 0-3, request a free evaluation through your local regional center: https://www.dds.ca.gov/rc/lookup-rcs-by-county/
👉 For children 3 and older, request a free evaluation through your local school district

Join us at Villa’s 65th Anniversary Celebration on May 30th, from 2:00-5:00pm, where our speech team will be offering FREE speech screenings! Families are welcome to stop by, get screened, and chat with our staff about communication development. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn more and support your loved ones' communication skills.

Celebrating Mother's Day with blooming creativity where CIP made Ikebana inspired flower arrangements for their mothers. Grace, a Rotary volunteer who comes monthly for classes, donated the wonderful flowers and led the craft with excitement. 🌸💕

Cinco de Mayo was celebrated in style at Villa Esperanza Services ADP, with a lively and joyful party that brought everyone together to honor the occasion.

The day kicked off with the soulful tunes of a Mariachi band, their traditional melodies setting a festive energy for the celebration. 🎺

Persons-served and staff enjoyed a delicious buffet featuring classic favorites, including flavorful enchiladas and sizzling fajitas. The festivities continued with a fun game of bingo, creating friendly competition and lots of cheers.

The highlight of the party was the colorful piñata 🎉, which brought out the playful spirit in everyone. CIP joined the celebration, and the event was memorable for all. Happy Cinco de Mayo from Villa Esperanza Services!

On behalf of everyone at Villa, thank you to the 200+ guests who joined us for our 2026 Garden of Hope Soiree— an unforgettable evening dedicated to supporting our mission. 💐 🌸

We are thrilled that the funds raised will benefit Villa's essential programs, expanding access, opportunity and strengthen the support individuals and families rely on daily.

Villa proudly honored Hugo Nuno with the Guardian Angel Award for his dedication as a board member over seven years and his trust in us while supporting his brother Senen in our day programs.

This year also marked our inaugural Hope Advocate Award given to Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger. Her advocacy has greatly benefitted individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across LA County.

Special thanks to our wonderful emcee Jonathan Weedman and auctioneer Chuck Tapert. The evening was full of fun, laughter and amazing energy due to your dedication and commanding energy. We appreciate your presence this year!
