A first soccer game is a pretty big deal! ⚽️💛 Our kids had a blast cheering on LAFC, experiencing the excitement of the stadium, and making memories together.

This was just one of 17 field trips our Children & Youth Program took this summer—the most they’ve ever taken in a single summer! From new experiences to unforgettable adventures, these opportunities give our kids the chance to simply be kids and explore something new.

As an organization focused on families, we’ve had kids running through our shelters since the very beginning. 💛

For 40 years, Door of Hope has been a place where children have played, grown, made friends and made memories while their families worked toward a more stable future.

These photos from the early years remind us that while so much has changed, one thing hasn’t: families have always been at the heart of Door of Hope.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It’s a time to recognize the courage it takes for families to seek safety and begin again. 💜

Yessica and her children faced domestic violence and the uncertainty of starting over. At Door of Hope, they found a safe place to rebuild and the support to move forward. While staying in shelter, Yessica returned to school and worked toward a career as a pharmacy technician.

Her story shows what can happen when families have a safe place to heal, grow, and find hope for what comes next. Watch the full video on our website. 💜

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Jeff, our Manager of Rehousing! 💛

In his role, Jeff walks alongside families as they navigate the path toward stable housing, offering guidance, advocacy and encouragement along the way.

As his supervisor, Kathy, shared, “Jeff’s steady, servant-hearted, and dependable presence makes people feel seen and cared for. He passionately advocates for the families we serve and is an incredible team player whose humility and commitment make him such a gift to our team.”
