Armenian Relief and Development Association

Armenian Relief and Development Association Our mission is to provide physical, spiritual, and educational assistance and resources in the name of Christ to the Armenian people.

Established in 1970 as a non-denominational Christian humanitarian relief and development organization. Headquartered in Pasadena, CA, we serve the neediest people of Armenia by providing them with food, clothes, health resources, job training, and affordable homes. We currently have 8 major ministries serving the people of Armenia. ARDA Trade and Technology Center – An occupational training and j

ob placement center for young Armenian men and women. Students can take English classes, computer skills classes, and construction and welding courses. Lazarian World Homes – Building low cost, energy-efficient and well insulated homes for the needy families of Armenia. These homes are being provided for families currently living in metal freight containers known as “domiks”

Radio Broadcast – Since 2001, we have been broadcasting daily Bible lesson messages in half hour segments. We have open phone lines, so listeners can call in from major cities in Armenia and Karabakh. Child Sponsorship – Established after the devastating earthquake in the Shirak region of Armenia in 1988. The sponsored children receive healthy food, free medical and dental care, warm clothes and shoes. Youth Ministry – A partnership with Young Life International, we now have 13 active Young Life/AGM clubs that meet once a week. Kids and young adults who attend the club hear the message of Jesus Christ. Angel’s Home Health – Provides in home emotional and medical help to the poorest families in Armenia. AGM social workers are sent to visit the families and provide medical services, food, clothing, and help with home repairs. Social workers also share the love of Jesus Christ with the families. ARDA Health Clinic – Located in the city of Gyumri, the health clinic provides medical care, dental care, sonography, EKG and free pharmacy services to the population of Shirak region. The Health Center building is also ARDA’s administrative center for the Shirak region. Gifts in Kind/Humanitarian Aid – Donations of new or gently used clothing, shoes, mattresses, and non-perishable foods are send to Armenia for distribution.

ARDA had the privilege to take our children to summer camp, held by ցորենի սերմը (Grain of Wheat) where they learned about the gospel, played team building games, performed skits, enjoyed meal times with their new friends and more! For most of them, this was their first time away from home and they all had a great time and couldn’t stop talking about it. Thanks again ցորենի սերմը (Grain of Wheat) for hosting the Children of ARDA!

Here at ARDA, we believe in creating opportunities for our families. Although, Hasmik and her family are in a tough situation, they have hope for a better future. With ARDA's help, this family has started their own business, where they are selling watermelons, peppers, cucumbers and other seasonal vegetables and fruits. Here are some photos of our surprise visit to congratulate them on their grand opening. With their drive and dedication and ARDA’s support, we can accomplish all that is possible.

During one of our home visits, we surprised our Arman, who turned 13 years old, with cake, ice cream and a soccer ball.

Celebrating Women’s day in March. This is us,
hosting an event for our lovely women at our location in Zeytun. At ARDA, we believe that empowering women comes with knowing your worth that you’re wonderfully made. We wanted this seminar to be both educational and inspiring. Afterward, we had a lot of the women say, “It was nice to be taken care of and appreciated.”

It is important for us at ARDA to regularly visit our 50 families that we care for. Investing time with each one of them allows us to learn about their needs and see how
we can best serve them. Our visits to their homes are as sweet as our Ofelia.
