Girls on the Run Los Angeles We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.

Girls on the Run of Los Angeles County is a local council of a national organization dedicated to helping pre-teen girls realize just how incredible they are. Girls on the Run uses the power of running to prepare girls in 3rd – 8th grades for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. With a detailed curriculum of games, activities, discussions, and running around, girls experience the joy of simply being themselves! The lessons inspire them to celebrate their bodies, honor their voices, recognize their gifts, and activate their power. At the end of each season, they complete a non-competitive 5k (3.1 mile) walk/run.

Until then, here’s a little Spring 2026 5K photo dump featuring some of our favorite moments from race day. The smiles, the celebrations, the finish line magic.. it never gets old. 🥲

📸: Thank you, Madelyn Chen, for capturing it 🫶

As we celebrated 20 years of Girls on the Run of Los Angeles County at this season’s 5K, we wanted to create moments that honored the community that helped build this organization.

From our Alumni Tent and Golden Baton Energy Awards to anniversary treats and spaces to reflect and reconnect, these touches reinforced the message that this milestone belongs to so many people.

We were especially grateful to welcome back alumni, long-time coaches, and supporters who joined us to celebrate and reconnect. Seeing generations of the GOTRLA community together was a reminder of what makes this organization so special: people coming together for one another and for girls.

For twenty years, girls, coaches, volunteers, families, staff, board members, and supporters have helped shape Girls on the Run LA into the vibrant community it is today. We loved celebrating our past while cheering on the girls who will carry this work forward.

Women built this. Girls will lead it. ✨

As we celebrated the 20th anniversary of Girls on the Run LA, we were reminded that none of this happens alone.

She is the original coach, loudest cheerleader, and steady voice that says, “You’ve got this” when we need it most. 🥰

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the moms and mother figures who lead by example and inspire our GOTR girls to be their boldest selves. Their love and care help girls trust themselves and pursue big goals, on the course and in life. 💕

Behind every student’s success is a teacher who saw their limitless potential. Every season, educators volunteer their time to coach Girls on the Run teams and bring our program to their schools. 💫

Despite juggling lesson plans, personal schedules, and countless other tasks, they help our girls grow, and our community thrive. We’re thrilled to honor these superheroes and thank them for all they do. 🥹🎉💜
