Originally, "The Fork" was built by Ken Marshall as a gag birthday gift to friend Bob Stane on October 31, 2009. Bob had always driven by the fork in the road and thought that there should be a literal Fork at a fork in the road. Ken along with the help of friends made Bobs birthday wish come true by building and erecting the 20 foot high, 500 pound fork. Fork now has permanent status at Fork Plaz
a (200 Bellefontaine, Pasadena)
The Fork Foundation was conceived by local Pasadena Realtor Phil Coombes as a way to put a Philanthropic twist to the Fork. Since its inception, Phil and his organization have literally collected tons of food for the needy, provided thousands of toys for children at the holidays and have reached out to various individuals and communities where there was a true need. Having garnered local and National headlines, Phil plans on taking his foundation eventually to a National level. Actual fork at 200 Bellefontaine is the property of Bob Stane and Ken Marshall of Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena, CA
