You don't need a week away to allow teenagers to serve. But there's an important step before you choose the project: Listen.

Ask community organizations what they actually need. Invite local leaders into the conversation. Let students research the needs they're already noticing. Then decide where your group can contribute.

Sometimes you just need a little space. And honestly, that’s exactly what our team needed.

We took some time to step away from the usual pace, slow down, recharge, and reconnect with God and with each other. There were quiet moments, good conversations, lots of laughs, and plenty of reminders that rest is part of the work too.

Thank you for praying for our team as we took this time to retreat. We’re coming back refreshed, grateful, and ready for what’s ahead. And of course, we can’t wait to share the research we’ve been doing!

As a team, we started the morning with silence and reflection, just making some room to slow down and be with God.

Then came coffee by the beach, time in the Word, reflecting on art, good conversations, and a lot of little moments in between.

It was a good reminder that sometimes we don’t need to fill every moment. We just need to pay attention.

Grateful for today and for the ways God met us in the quiet, the beauty, and the ordinary.
