POP Pasadenans Organizing for Progress Please join Pasadenans Organizing for Progress to make Pasadena a more just, fair, and inclusive City. POP!

We support workers rights, immigrant rights, housing justice, reform of police practices, and voter rights grew directly out of the Pasadenans for a Livable Wage movement. Due to the unprecedented coalition of labor, community, religious, and educational sectors, PLW was able to win a unanimous vote in the Pasadena City Council to bring the minimum wage to $15/hour by 2020. Now, we are working wit

h city officials to ensure proper enforcement. But there’s so much more to do that the coalition went on to raise money to hire a full-time organizer. We are facing the immigrant deportation crisis head-on, working to connect and train people, making sure everyone knows their rights, and become known as a city where immigrants are safe. Another goal is to connect the several silos of activism that have existed in Pasadena for years or have recently sprung to life: PAHG, Pasadena Affordable Housing Group; CICOPP, Coalition for Increased Civilian Oversight of Pasadena Police; Pasadena Tenants Union ; NDLON, the National Day Laborers Organizing Network, among others doing important work.

CITY COUNCIL TONIGHT✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽 CALL IN AND HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD. 2. 2 MILLON DOLLARS SHOULD GO TO OUR HEALTH DEPARTMENT!
call on the Council to pause this vote, engage the community that this program is meant to protect, and issue a new RFP with transparent criteria, measurable outcomes, and genuine input built in from the start. This program, done right, can be a model for cities across California. Done wrong, it is $2.2 million that neither saves lives nor earns the trust that makes saving lives possible. Elected officials, it is not too late to get this right. Jess Rivas for Pasadena City Council

Let's Talk Let's Listen Community Series From Incarceration to Community Leadership

04/15/2026

Just over a year later, Altadena's recovery from the destruction of nearly 6,000 homes seems full of challenges, but it is happening slowly and surely.
Our community series begins with Catalyst California sharing their research project and dashboard app, developed with Dena Rise Up Coalition, showing accurate data on how Altadena is rebuilding. A panel of community experts will then discuss environmental safety, tenants' issues, and land trust and development.
Expect a night of learning and robust conversation.

Dances Written Inside Prison Come to Pasadena in Documentary Screening

When California prisons shut down visitation in March 2020, the men who had spent Friday afternoons dancing with choreographer Suchi Branfman at the California Rehabilitation Center in Norco began sending out something unexpected: written dance instructions, mailed from their bunks to the outside world.
