Join us for “The Places In Between” with Andy Romanoff on Saturday, June 27th at 5pm:

🎙️ Photographer and writer Andy Romanoff presents an evening exploring travel, memory, landscape, and the strange poetry of the American road. Through short films, readings, photographs, and personal reflections, Romanoff traces the sometimes overlooked spaces between destinations: the faded towns, roadside encounters, desert highways, and fragments of memory that define the experience of travel in the American West.

🚗 Using photographs, film, and stories gathered over years on the road, the presentation moves through U.S. Route 66, the Loneliest Road, the Sierra Nevada, Silver City, roadside bars, and countless in between places typically seen through the windshield. Rather than focusing on destinations alone, Romanoff looks at the landscapes, chance encounters, and fleeting moments that shape how we think about travel and the places we call home.

🛣️ At its heart, the evening reflects on the idea that no matter how far the road stretches, every journey eventually circles back home to Los Angeles.

As Preservation Month comes to a close, we visited the birthplace of Pasadena Heritage almost 50 years ago.

This home was built in 1891 and designed by G. Lawrence Stimson, a very popular local architect.

A meeting was held in its living room by a group of concerned residents who saw Pasadena changing, historic buildings being sacrificed for aggressive redevelopment plans, and historic neighborhoods being threatened. This group became Pasadena Heritage.

Look no further for the perfect Father’s Day gift!

🏈 Kick a Football on the Rose Bowl Field: A Father’s Day Stadium Tour

🗓️ Sunday, June 21st, 10am & 2pm
📍 Rose Bowl Stadium

👟 Led by Rose Bowl docents, you will move through spaces most people never see, including the original 1922 locker rooms, press box, broadcast center, and out onto the field itself. It’s equal parts architecture, infrastructure, and lived history.

Spend Father’s Day at the Rose Bowl Stadium, a piece of Pasadena’s civic history that’s been continuously in use since 1922. Designed by Myron Hunt, the building has evolved over the decades, shaped by changing needs, careful upgrades, and a long tradition of stewardship that’s kept it both relevant and remarkably intact.

This tour is a look at the Rose Bowl as a place, how it works, how it’s changed, and what’s taken place there along the way.

🚨 Our historic PUSD campuses are not only important schools, but also visual and cultural anchors within the community.

With Eliot Middle School and San Rafael Elementary School threatened, we need your help to send a clear message: demolition is not the only answer.

We recognize and sympathize with the serious financial and enrollment challenges facing PUSD. However, we strongly reject the narrative being advanced that demolition is the best or only viable option for these campuses.

With decisions regarding school consolidations and closures still pending, these demolition proposals feel premature and deeply concerning. Pasadena’s historic schools are irreplaceable community assets. Once lost, they cannot be rebuilt.
