Nancy Evans Dance Theatre Presents Works 2025: Bound, an evening of modern dance that explores consequence and connection. Nancy Evans Doede’s Vigil, a multi-media dance theatre work, traces the ripple effects of a tragic accident, exposing the raw emotions that fracture lives while binding them together. The premiere of Ashleigh Doede’s In-Yun explores the invisible threads linking us across time, inspired by the Korean belief that even the briefest encounters are shaped by past lives. Guest artist Cheryl Banks-Smith joins NEDT artistic director, Nancy Evans Doede for a joyous new choreographic and improvisational collaboration.

Celebrate 15 years of NEDT with an eclectic evening of critically-acclaimed repertory dance works that showcase the company’s rich history and growth—an exploration of old and new. The evening will feature a world premiere presentation of artistic director, Nancy Evans Doede’s, Landscapes.

In addition to Nancy Evans Doede’s lauded works TETHERED (2010), SHIFTING SANDS (2011), SAD BIRDS (2012), and ITALY (2012); resident choreographers and founding company members Ashleigh Doede and Jenn Logan will have several works on the program. Ashleigh revisits her trio, TICK (2018), an abstract movement exploration that deconstructs a timepiece. And Jenn Logan brings back the dysfunctional family THE JONESES, and the delightfully playful LUCY from the 2015 work, APARTMENT 6B.

Join Nancy and NEDT company members for an open level dance class focused on foundational movement, strength, alignment, musicality, and expression. Nancy’s exploration of form and space comes from a modern dance lineage that traces back to Mary Wigman via Hanya Holm.

Auditions! Nancy Evans Dance Theatre is looking for dancers over 18 to beyond 40 with strong modern dance technique, acting skills, and improvisational background for our 2023/24 season.
The audition will be from 1:00 until 4:00 at Pasadena Dance Theatre - 1985 Locust Street, Pasadena, 91107. We will give a short company class and will be teaching excerpts from our repertory, with and without partnering work.
