Have you ever wondered why Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena meets at the Pasadena International House of Prayer (PIHOP)?

We believe it's no accident.

For years, people throughout Pasadena have come to this location seeking a deeper connection with God through , , and spiritual renewal. The mission of the Pasadena International House of Prayer has been to cultivate a culture of continual prayer and worship, seeking God's presence and praying for His purposes to be accomplished in our city and beyond.

As a church, we are grateful to gather in a place with such a rich heritage of seeking the Lord.

Being in the heart of Pasadena also reflects our desire to be connected to the surrounding community. We don't want to be isolated from the city God has called us to serve. We want to know our neighbors, love our community, proclaim the , and be a visible witness to the hope found in .

Every Sunday, people from all walks of life gather here to worship, pray, study , and encourage one another in faith. Whether you're exploring , looking for a church home, or simply searching for and purpose, there's a place for you.

We are thankful to worship in a place dedicated to prayer, and we're excited to continue building relationships throughout Pasadena as we seek to make Christ known.

Where are you looking for ?

Last Sunday at Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena, Pastor Tim began our new sermon series through the letters of John by teaching from 1 John 1:1-4. He challenged us with a simple but profound question: Where are you looking for life?

So often, the quality of life we long for seems just out of reach because we're plugging into the wrong sources for fulfillment. Careers, possessions, achievements, entertainment, and relationships can never provide the life our souls were created for.

True life only comes through authentic in .

John reminds us that eternal life is not merely a future promise. Through Jesus, eternity has broken into our world. God became human, and life is found in Him alone. That's why John warns us against false teachers and false gospels. Real life comes only through the message of Jesus.

But what does look like?

It looks like . It looks like relationships. It looks like genuine connection with God and His people. The good life is knowing Jesus and being set free to love others. As we share and proclaim the gospel, our joy is made complete and our fellowship deepens.

The application is simple:

Seek real life.

Are you feeling , isolated, or disconnected?

Life was never meant to be lived alone. God created us for -- to encourage one another, pray for one another, carry each other’s burdens, and grow together in faith.

At Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena, we want to be a church where people are known, supported, and cared for through every season of life. In a world that often leaves people feeling , we believe true matters more than ever.

Last Sunday at Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena, Pastor Tim completed our study through the book of Hebrews with a powerful reminder that God Himself equips His people to through Jesus, our Great Shepherd.

We were reminded that our confidence in God’s equipping work in our lives today is rooted in what He has already done for us through Christ. God raised Jesus, our , from the dead, rescuing us from sin and securing us in His promises, through Jesus’ finished work on the cross.

Because of that, we can live with confidence knowing God will not let us go.

Through every struggle, trial, fear, and uncertainty, our Shepherd continues His ongoing work in us, creating, strengthening, mending, restoring, and leading us faithfully forward. He gives us and a confidence rooted not in ourselves, but in His promises.

Last Sunday at Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena, Pastor Tim continued our study through Hebrews (Hebrews 13:9-16), bringing us a sobering yet beautiful reminder: The food your heart actually needs is found "outside the camp".

In a world full of “inner circles” calling for our attention, approval, and allegiance, Hebrews points us outside the camp to Christ Himself. brings friction with the surrounding culture, but it is there, with Him, that we find true joy and lasting satisfaction.

The world cannot feed the heart the way Christ can. Our hearts are insatiable; they need to be fed every day. If we aren’t feeding on , we will try to fill up on other things that will always leave us disappointed. But if we , he transforms us into joyful, generous people, overflowing with .

As the comes to a close, we are excited to celebrate our final Summit Youth gathering of the year with an end-of-year pool party and BBQ this Wednesday! ☀️🏊‍♂️

We are so thankful for the opportunity to invest in the and encourage our to pursue Christ, grow in His Word, and build meaningful fellowship with one another. Watching young believers grow in faith and community is a reminder of God’s faithfulness to His church across generations.

After this week, Summit Youth will be taking a break for the , and we are grateful for all God has done this year through our students, leaders, and families.

Please be that our youth would continue to grow in their love for Jesus throughout the summer months and return ready to keep running the race of faith together.

At Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena, we believe is an act of shaped by the Gospel. While began as an Old Testament practice, Jesus transforms how we think about in the New Testament. Giving is no longer simply about meeting an obligation or checking off 10%. Instead, it becomes a joyful, sacrificial response to the grace God has shown us in Christ.

Everything we have already belongs to God. Our finances, time, gifts, and resources are all entrusted to us by Him. Because of that, generosity is not driven by guilt, but by . We give because Christ first gave Himself for us.

Your faithful giving helps support the ministry of the church, care for those in crisis, church planting, leadership development, global missions, and the future vision for a permanent church home. Every gift, large or small, is part of God’s work through His people.

We also take stewardship seriously. We aim to handle every dollar with wisdom, accountability, and transparency so that God is honored in how His resources are used.

Last Sunday at Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena, Pastor Tim continued our study through Hebrews by looking at Hebrews 13 and the calling of .

reminds us that the church has a responsibility to pray for, support, and walk alongside its leaders. Biblical leadership is not about power or status. It is about laying down one’s life for the flock, like a shepherd caring for his sheep. are called to keep watch over the souls of the congregation, and they can only do so through the strength and grace of Jesus.

We were also reminded that leaders are human and fallible. Accountability matters, and one of the best ways to encourage healthy leadership is through genuine , , and mutual care within the . As the church joyfully supports and prays for its leaders, the whole congregation is strengthened for God’s glory.

Happy ! We thank God for the women who faithfully love, nurture, teach, encourage, and point the toward Christ.

Scripture reminds us of the incredible impact of a godly mother:

“Her children rise up and call her blessed.” – Proverbs 31:28
“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” – Proverbs 31:26
“I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice.” – 2 Timothy 1:5

Mothers play a powerful role in shaping hearts, , and passing down faith from one generation to the next. Whether through quiet , daily sacrifices, , or years of faithful perseverance, their impact reflects and care.

Last Sunday at Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena, Pastor Tim continued our study through Hebrews, teaching from Hebrews 12:28–13:6. We saw that because we are receiving an unshakable Kingdom, our lives should overflow with a specific kind of worship: genuine, .

Just as God promised Joshua, "I will never leave you nor forsake you," He gives us that same promise today. We don’t have to fight the battles of the heart alone. God’s "Jericho-destroying power" is at work in us, transforming us into a community marked by radical , deep , , and .

God isn’t just saving us; He is making us a people who love the way Jesus loves. No matter where you are in your walk with God, there is hope and strength found in Him.
